The US military strikes on three of Iran's nuclear facilities last weekend did not destroy the core components of the country's nuclear program and likely only set it back by months, according to an early US intelligence assessment that was described by four people briefed on it.

If that is true then why did Trump claim that "Iran's nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated"
Did military command tell him that or is that just something he made up?

Isn't it always just something he made up?

He'd have to attend a briefing to be told something.

They was no way he could have known until a damage assessment was completed ... and "totally obliterated" is not a term the military would use.

So yes. Totally made up. As is most of what spews from Trumpy.

No, but look on the bright side; somewhere in the ME there's a 1990's Datsun with weapons grade material cruising around looking for a buyer.

The only thing Donald Trump has ever been successful at is raping children on Epstein Island.

This is why conservatives voted for him.

They're all pedophiles.

Given the bombastic nonsense that dribbles out of sphincter on his face on a regular basis, I'm going with he made it up.

I didn't think they were anywhere near that...

This was all well worth it given that experts are now saying that the program was set back... a few months.

@#12 ... This was all well worth it given that experts are now saying that the program was set back... a few months. ...

So far, I've not seen any reports of radioactivity at or around the site.

So, either the highly-enriched uranium is buried, or it was removed before the bombing.

My guess is on the latter...

Satellite images show trucks lined up at Iran's Fordow nuclear facility before US airstrikes
nypost.com

... Satellite images appeared to show scores of trucks lined up at Iran's Fordow nuclear facility just days before the US carried out its large-scale airstrikes -- as speculation swirled that Tehran may have been able to move its uranium stockpiles before the attacks.

The images, released by US defense contractor Maxar Technologies, captured more than a dozen cargo-style trucks lined up outside the Fordow nuclear enrichment site's tunnel entrance on Thursday and Friday. ...

Maybe not just moving the highly enriched uranium, but also the centrifuges?

Why did anyone think a bunker buster that can only go through 200 feet of earth or 60 feet of concrete could somehow go through 250 feet of solid rock and concrete?

How much did this Mission cost?

Estimates run from from $500-700 Million.

#19 | Posted by REDIAL at 2025-06-24 08:56 PM | Reply

I did predict this.

But be careful. This report sounds reasonable. Too reasonable.

But.

In war truth is the first casualty. Iran is painting a completely different picture of what happened.

The whole thing sounds a bit fishy. Iran is cooperating with a cease fire ? Iran never cooperates. Especially under duress.

@#18 ... Why did anyone think ...

OK, I have comments ...

Yeah, a bunker-buster bomb seems to have the limits you describe.

Yeah, that is one BB bomb.

As illustrated in the graphic in this article ...

The U.S. could join Israel's war with Iran to deploy this 30,000-pound bomb (June 19, 2025)
www.axios.com

(as usual, kudos to the axios.com graphic team)

But what if more than one BB bomb is dropped, and the first ~loosens up the earth~ so that the second can penetrate more deeply?

That seemed to be the tactic here.

Did it work?

Early reports seem to indicate it did not.

But, time will tell ...

@#18 ... Iran never cooperates. ...

I do not disagree.

But today's Iran is not the Iran of old.

The Iranian military and defense has been devastated.

But to your comment's point ...

Yeah, Iran never cooperates. And maybe that is why the FBI is moving resources from deportation to counter-terrorism.

#22 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-06-24 09:43 PM | Reply

Why should Iran cooperate?

They were cooperating when Obama and 4 other nations signed a treaty with them, Trump tore it up.

They even agreed to meet, a week ago, to negotiate.

Israel and America attacked them.

What's that famous saying from Tennessee ... I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee ... that says, fool me once, shame on ... shame on you. Fool me ... you can't get fooled again.

Pretty sure that's what they're thinking is happening.

#23 | Posted by ClownShack at 2025-06-24 09:51 PM | Reply

"Why should Iran cooperate?"

Exactly.

And now Iran is declaring victory. That won't sit well with Trumpy.

So. Expect I would more bombings.

And more cyber attacks.

imo, the "Trump tore it up" in your comment is operative here.

Why did Pres Trump "tear it up?"

It was working.

But Pres Trump 1.0 tore it up, lighting the match that has led us to the current fire in the Middle East.

And now, Pres Trump needs to play to role of being a fireman for the fire he likely started.

He'll come unglued. It would be funny if they missed the nuke sites and then called off Bibi to boot. That would be a win.

Iran is fully prepared for a cyber war. I sure hope we are.

Iran produces the third-highest number of engineers worldwide, with approximately 233,695 graduates each year.

The growing use of the internet and mobile devices suggests increasing demand for IT skills. This growing demand, along with the high number of STEM and engineering graduates, indicates a large potential for a skilled IT workforce.

Yup, Iran is most skilled with cyber-attacks.

But I also have a concern about internal terrorism by Iran within the Country.

Which may be why the FBI is moving people from deportation duty to counter-terrorism duty.
