... because Ms. Halligan had no lawful authority to present the indictment...

What a surprise.

Womp! Womp!

Trumpets personal vendetta just blew up in his face.

Ms Halligan shoulda bought better insurance.

And now she faces her own legal fees and eventual disbarment.

Hope she bought insurance for that.

The question now is, were there other cases for which interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Lindsey Halligan was the lead prosecutor that are now at risk of also being thrown out of court?

" because Ms. Halligan had no lawful authority to present the indictment, I will grant Mr. Comey's motion and dismiss the indictment,"

And because this means it was never valid to begin with...so the statute of limitations has expired.

Well my, my, my. Nobody could have predicted GOP would be too stupid to govern...even dismally.

Wait. Der Dotard pledged to hire only the best looking people. That should matter in this case!

I'll wager that Ms. Halligan will be found another job, one more suited to her capabilities, like, maybe, Ambassador to Grand Fenwick, or even to Genovia...

Re 3

Yes.

It's my understanding that she is also now in danger of being disbarred.

Maybe ET_AL can weigh in on this one.

For the people who claimed Biden was "weaponizing" the DoJ, please let you us know about your thoughts on this administration using an illegally appointed prosecutor with 0 experience in the job to bring indictments against those who sought to prosecute Trump.

Trump's Model/Lawyers will always have the catwalk to fall back on.

He's WAY behind of firing Cabinet Members and lawyers and spokesmodels this year... that Nobel is taking up all his time.

All Trump's legal shenanigans are never worth the paper they're written on. Never have been. We all knew for the last 30 years that Trump is a short fingered vulgarian buffoon. He'll go down in history as the WC Fields of presidents.

Republicans, remember: You asked for this. Given the choice between a dozen solid conservatives and one Clinton-supporting con artist and game-show host, you chose the con artist. You chose him freely. Nobody made you do it.

I'm going to take a moment to gloat.

And to wish the Senator from Arizona luck as he now directly faces the wrath of a petty, vengeful tyrant.

Has Trump called for the judge's execution yet?

This is actually a bummer. I was looking forward to comey smacking down all their conspiracies in court.

It's hilarious that trump can't even properly prosecute his political opponents because it's more important to him to hire hot lawyers.

The judge's ruling was not with prejudice, so some of the other charges could possibly move forward, but with an appointed prosecutor that isn't a parking lot lawyer.

MAGAts who cried about a fake "weaponization of the DOJ" now know what actual weaponization of the DOJ against a President's perceived enemies looks like.

This is not surprising at all. Gross incompetence on the part of the prosecution.

Good thing Trump is so incompetent that he can't successfully weaponize the DoJ when he keeps loading duds such as Bondi, Halligan, Habba and that drunkard Pirro.
Bad thing is that Trump's deconstruction of the DoJ will result in actual criminals avoiding prosecution.
