White House says Iran war ceasefire will continue if Strait of Hormuz is open

More

Alternate links: Google News | Twitter

Just wanted to remind folks, especially the GOP and the FDD, that Barack Obama's 2015 nuclear deal didn't give Iran control of the Strait of Hormuz or allow it to keep 60% enriched uranium. It sent $1.7 billion to Iran versus the tens of billions Iran will now make from tolls.

Iran again closes Strait of Hormuz

Who could ever have imagined that Iran would take the world hostage?

Who could have ever imagined that Israel would let a ceasefire last.

They're as trustworthy as Putin in that regard.

Also, per the article, "two US-allied Arab countries earlier said they were targeted with Iranian drones and missiles despite Iran agreeing to a cease-fire."

But JPW always on point to lay all blame at the foot of the Joos.

Censored believes Israel can commit as many illegal war crimes and atrocities as they desire as long as they then cry about being Jews.

Not sure why the religion of the criminals matters.

Except when theres no other justification for the crimes of Israel. Then it's all about the fact they're Jewish victims of their own actions.

Yes, no doubt Trump is the cause. But holding Iran blameless for cutting off oil to nations that have nothing to do with the war?

The good news is that Trump likely made a couple hundred mill from manipulating the market at the expense of American retirees.

Donald Trump has gone from demanding he'll be the one to select the new Supreme Leader in Iran to having the mullahs jerk his chain every few hours over the Strait of Hormuz.

So, yes. Trump has lost the war he's started. If it is indeed over. But that does not look like something under his control.

That's his bottom line for success; none of the rest really matters.

Iran isn't blameless... it's hardline leadership have funded terror groups, not just revolutionaries, for years.

There haven't been any good guys in this conflict for decades... the USA could have been, previously tried to be, but has become just another bad actor now.

Those reasons seem sickly funny now.

Trump's failures only make him more dangerous. He's proven countless times that he just as soon as get something by way of theft and fraud than real achievement.

The worse things get for him, the more motivation he will have to stage a coup in November. We might be amazed in the event how brazen and brutal he is.

Meanwhile the entire world sees Israel for the genocidal maniacs they are.

"Iran shouldn't be blamed... its theocratic leadership have funded groups resisting Israeli terrorism and ethnic cleansing ever since the horrific 1982 Sabra and Shatila massacres in Lebanon which led to the birth of Lebanese Hezbollah.

There have been good guys in this conflict for decades, but Islamophobia in America's mainstream media (MSM) has constantly demonized Iranians and Palestinians ... the USA pretended to be an impartial actor for decades, but has finally been completely exposed as the bad actor in the Middle East that it has always been."

Speaking of advertisements I'm looking for an alternative to YouTube.

It started with 1 advertisement per video at the start then 2 ads, recently I've seen 3 ads occasionally at the start.

Then it is ads multiple times per video often with one add you can't skip followed by one you can, now even when you click on skip an ad a pop up comes on to the screen.

It is becoming too much of a headache

#25 | Posted by truthhurts at 2026-04-08 06:33 PM | Reply

Yea.

YouTube is trying its hardest to force people to purchase subscriptions.

Unfortunately I'm not aware of a YouTube alternative.

Though, should one pop up that works more like the original, free YouTube, it will be a huge success.

And I get this place is a pain in RCade's arse, so he's trying to make some money to make it worth his time.

But there's just too many adds, we're one step away from those stupid self playing video advertisements.

@#25 ... It is becoming too much of a headache ...

Streaming services did a similar thing.

Initially they were relatively inexpensive as they tried to lure cusomters away from cable TV.

Then when they reached what I call a critical mass of cable defections, the prices started to rise, and rise, and rise, and rise.

Now I'm seeing advertisements for second-rate streaming services that say something along the lines of ~starting at only $49.95 per month.~

Malwarebytes, Ublock Origin Lite, and YouTube Video Ad Skipper are what I use.

The ads here on my phone are ridiculous, but I rarely use my phone for posting.

OK, having said that, and as a former message-discussion website ~provider.~ ...

I have to ask, if RCade needs to show more ads to cover the costs of running this most august site, then, so be it. He is running it. If you don't like it, start your own website.

But, and this is a serious but ...

In my actual experience of running a website, back in the day, that fostered the discussion of controversial issues, I will say that RCade is likely quite within his balance of providing this website as compared to compensating for the costs (and aggravation!) of providing this website.

So, allow me to ask of those who seem to be complaining ...

How many websites have you run? How many trolls have you had to deal with?

White House Sends Mixed Signals on Strait of Hormuz Closure
www.notus.org

... Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, sent conflicting messages on Wednesday about the Strait of Hormuz, pushing back on reports that Iran had closed the channel while also calling on it to be reopened.

Leavitt didn't directly answer who currently controls the vital shipping route, raising new questions about the status of a ceasefire with Iran.

Leavitt rejected the report by Iranian state media that tanker traffic had been halted in response to Israeli strikes in Lebanon, calling it "false."

"That is completely unacceptable," she told reporters at a White House briefing, adding that "we have seen an uptick of traffic in the strait today." ...

@#44 ... That's odd. Not answering a direct question? ...

My guess would be that before Pres Trump launched his unprovoked war against Iran, the Strait of Hormuz was open to all shipping traffic.

Unimpeded traffic.

But now, as a result of Pres Trump's unprovoked war on Iran, said traffic is now impeded.

So, Press Secretary Leavitt now seems to be trying to justify how the current situation of Iran's apparent full control of the transits through the Strait of Hormuz is somehow better than the free transits prior to Pres Trump's unprovoked war with Iran.
