Trump Weighing Order To Seize Elections By Declaring Sham National Emergency: Report
President Donald Trump is reportedly considering declaring a national emergency due to supposed widespread foreign interference in the 2020 election, which he would then use as a pretense to seize voting power from the states.

There is no evidence of such widespread interference, and a seizing electoral power from the states would represent an unprecedented abuse of power.

A 17-page draft executive order authored by pro-Trump activists that was reviewed by The Washington Post would blame China for Trump's 2020 presidential election loss. It would reportedly allow the president to ban mail-in ballots and voting machines, which Trump has falsely blamed for being vectors of fraudulent votes.

Last month, a lawyer who represented Trump in his 2020 election-denial lawsuits from Fulton County, Georgia, where Trump had contested the results even though investigations turned up no fraud.

In a highly unusual departure from established legal norms, Trump's director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, was on hand for the raid even though her role as DNI doesn't overlap with in-person domestic criminal investigative work.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, who used to be Trump's personal attorney before he was elevated to the number two position at the Justice Department, conceded in an interview with CNN that he didn't know what Gabbard was doing, or why she was present during the search.
