@#36 ... It was impressive how well Orbison's voice held out late into his life. He could still hit the high notes clear as a bell. ...
Yup.
@#37 ... I wore out a couple copies of The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys ...
Back in the day, when I noticed that I was starting to listen to an album many times, I would put it on tape (7 1/2 ips, Teac tape deck), and I listened to the album from tape.
But I also want to note, I listened to the album, not individual songs, but the album.
As I digitize my vinyl collection (at a 96/24 bit rate), my first pass is to create a digital file per album side. Because that I how I used to listen to albums, a full side at a time.
OK, I'm moving away from this thread's topic, lemme fix that ...
You had to be there... ;)
Another warm summer night I was sitting at a red light with no cars or traffic around with Steppenwolf's The Pusher blasting. (GAWDAMthePUSHERMAN!)
I looked over and a car had pulled up next to me.... a car full nuns with shocked looks on their faces!
Good times.
