2 Minutes, 53 Seconds

The "raw" video footage released by the Department of Justice of Jeffrey Epstein's cell door in the hours before he was found dead had nearly three minutes cut out from it, a new report has claimed.

NEW: Metadata from the "raw" Epstein prison video shows approximately 2 minutes and 53 seconds were removed from one of two stitched-together clips. The cut starts right at the "missing minute."[image or embed]

From the link in #2

... Now, WIRED reports that one of the source clips was approximately 2 minutes and 53 seconds longer than the segment included in the final video, indicating that footage may have been trimmed before being released by the DOJ. ...

I had thought the DoJ previously stated that there would be a minute missing each day around midnight because needed to be "rebooted" so that it continued to work.

OK, that seemed odd to me on the surface because a surveillance system in a prison is not active routinely each day, even if only for a minute?

But now, it seems like there were close to three minutes of video missing and the remaining video looks like it has been edited?

#3 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-07-15 07:49 PM

Yeah... murdering him in his cell was apparently a 3 min job.

I would suspect Steve Bannon did it, but he's to fat to get around that quickly.

#4 | Posted by Corky at 2025-07-15 07:51 PM

@#4 ... I would suspect ...

At this point, my main concern is ...

Why does the Trump admin seem to be making such a large effort to try to make this conspiracy theory, that Pres Trump had promoted, go away? Wasn't Pres Trump saying is would be a transparent Presidency?

That's what interests me most at this point.

Lara Trump says White House needs 'more transparency' on Epstein
www.politico.com

... Lara Trump, President Donald Trump's daughter-in-law and former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, said the White House needs to show "more transparency" in its handling of the investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. ...

#6 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-07-15 08:06 PM

My guess as to what may happen in the near future ...

The Trump DoJ will release some highly ~sanitized~ files (similar to the apparent ~sanitization~ of the video?) in hopes that the release will quell the uproar.

#7 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-07-15 08:07 PM

This is like Watergate except it is a murder that is being covered up.

And evidence related to the murder victim, evidence that would establish motive, is sitting on the FBI Director's desk.

If Republicans allow this to happen, and they are actively doing that, there won't be an America by the midterms.

The news of which Acosta failed to pass along to the man's victims.
Acosta went on to head up the Dept. of Labor ... under "former" Epstein buddy Trump
Acosta soon resigned because of heat generated by news of that sweetheart deal for Epstein.
Nope, nothing to see here.

Pam Bondi, and Donald Trump, are engaged in a cover up of Epstein.

Hard to come to a different conclusion.

#17 | Posted by Zed at 2025-07-16 08:28 AM

Anyone taking note of the "catastrophic failures of security" that are integral to events that benefited Donald Trump?

A "perfect storm" of Secret Service agents who, en masse, forget basic security protocols in Butler?

A "perfect storm" of security protocols in a prison that allowed the death of the highest value prisoner in the US at that time, Jeffrey Epstein?

I'm thinking that one reason that TRUMP/MAGA pitched their endless succession of conspiracy theories was to distract the larger public from the actual, concrete conspiracies.

Both the Trump "assassination" and the Epstein "suicide" stink to high heaven. They have this Orange smell to them.

The edits occurred in May of this year so good luck trying to pin that on Biden.

The reason the videos weren't released under Biden is because the investigation into those linked to Epstein was ongoing. The investigation was closed early this month which is why Prince Andrew is now free to visit the US again without fear of arrest. www.marieclaire.com

That's how far out in la la land you live.

It's not the president's job create conspiracies or to coordinate with the DOJ or to call for the release of files in any ongoing investigation to the public.

I don't remember Biden even mentioning Epstein or any files regarding the case. It was definitely not one of his priorities.

The Clinton dynasty would be impacted for sure, but certainly many, many, MANY donors.

The missing evidence also speaks to the trustworthiness of police and he justice system.

Those police involved are protected just like ICE - masked from scrutiny.

Impunity is necessary in a police state and Biden loves him some police, thus the current situation has been groomed for decades in the making, imo.

Epstein may never have a had a formal list of clients.

He could have kept it in his head, I suppose.

But that such a list could be created NOW is obvious.

Release it.

I can handle it if Bill Clinton is there.

I think that about seventy-five million Americans will have anuerisms if Donald Trump is there.

#49 | Posted by Zed at 2025-07-16 01:14 PM

Pathologists:

Among the injuries found on Epstein during the autopsy are contusions on both wrists, an abrasion on his left forearm, and deep muscle hemorrhaging in his left shoulder muscle. Photos 60 Minutes reviewed also show an injury to the back of his neck, a cut on his lip, and an injection mark in his arm, though it is unknown whether the latter injuries happened during an attempt to resuscitate Epstein at the hospital.

Dr. Baden said small burst capillaries, known as petechiae, found on Epstein's face, mouth, and eyes are often an indication of strangulation. But it was injuries to Epstein's neck that make Dr. Baden call into question the official ruling of suicide.

Autopsy photos show fractures of the left and right thyroid cartilage, which sits at the front of the neck, and the left hyoid bone, a u-shaped bone that sits under the jaw and acts as an anchor for the tongue.

"I have never seen three fractures like this in a suicidal hanging," Dr. Baden tells Alfonsi on the broadcast. He added: "Going over a thousand jail hangings, suicides in the New York City state prisons over the past 40-50 years, no one had three fractures."

Now he's reneged, and is blaming his Base for calling him on it.

People like BJ don't care what really happened, because Trump. And Eb would rather talk personalities here than the subject matter.

You should have opened with that, not that Zed would lose his mind if Clinton is on the list.

All I did to you was what you did to Zed. Except I was better at it.

Now he knows who's really on those lists. Some of them aren't just American elites. We're talking powerful figures in foreign countries.

yeah? And? SO WHAT.

These people should be exposed.

#98 | Posted by Alexandrite at 2025-07-16 02:10 PM

So, big picture, should Trump release the list?

Or would that be too disputive, like expecting Barney Fife to enforce the law in a Small Town?

I think this is where the rubber meets the road for you and all Republicans, Eberly.

#99 | Posted by snoofy at 2025-07-16 02:12 PM

Eb,

Maybe Trump didn't lie when he was running?

Maybe he meant what he said...back then.

You know he would have learned a lot more about the situation after becoming the president....right?

Now he is thinking otherwise about releasing it for all sorts of reasons. This could be a geopolitical firestorm.

Epstein didn't just host Americans.

I'm sure there's a lot more at stake than just the possibility Trump being on it.

Yeah but nobody here gives a shit.

Americans are really obsessed with the "degenerate country club member" meme.

Every community in America has a camp of folks who believe their local upper crust are all secret members of some sex swapping degenerate behavior type club.

Every seen "Eyes Wide Shut"?

That's what people think is going on everywhere.

Elite wealthy people only, of course. It's narrowed to that group only.

Remember the woman in 2016 who was going to testify about being raped at 13 by Trump but backed out at the last minute out of fear?

If somehow Trump's sex life becomes the story, witnesses to illegal sexual activity could be emboldened to come forward. We'll see ...

What Epstein did was beyond the bounds of morality...even for liberals.

But politics doesn't run on morality. It runs on leverage, threats, and compromise.

#113 | Posted by donnerboy at 2025-07-16 02:41 PM

Anything that comes out of the trump administration regarding epstein can't be trusted.

They lie about everything, and will lie even more about epstein, since trump was his party pal for 15 years and then had him killed in prison.

Democrats are so pathetic that they couldnt weaponize this before the election.

#114 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2025-07-16 02:41 PM

American,

"sinful indiscretions have been ignored by MAGA voters"

You can't play the "Separation of Church and State" card and then attempt to attack Christian voters for not voting their faith.

I've said before.

Politics and Religion don't mix.

Attempting to mix them, makes them both dysfunctional and neither fulfil their objective.

Atheist voters can vote how they please. Christian voters get attacked if liberals think they didn't vote their faith.

Politics is secular... Politics is not a religious system.

Don't mix them when it suits your purpose.

This is the same narrative place you guys end up when it's school shootings. It's always "too soon" to act.

By your reasoning above, so long as any of the powerful perpetrators are alive, the time is never going to be right to tell the truth.

And thus the crimes of the rich and powerful will never be punished.

And you want it to be that way.

Trump bashes foolish Republicans' for getting duped' on Epstein
thehill.com

... Trump during an Oval Office meeting with the crown prince of Bahrain repeated his claim that the documents connected to Epstein were a "hoax" started by Democrats. Epstein was arrested on sex trafficking charges and died by suicide in 2019, during Trump's first term.

"Some stupid Republicans and foolish Republicans fall into the net, and so they try and do the Democrats' work," Trump said.

"I call it the Epstein hoax. Takes a lot of time and effort. Instead of talking about the great achievements we've had ... they're wasting their time with a guy who obviously had some very serious problems, who died three, four years ago. I'd rather talk about the success we have with the economy," Trump added.

Prominent Republicans and Trump supporters, including Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), have in recent days called for greater transparency from the administration around files related to Epstein's case. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), an ardent Trump supporter, called for a special counsel to review the administration's handling of the Epstein files.

Trump's backers, including some now serving in his administration, have for years espoused conspiracy theories around Epstein's death and suggested the government was covering up information that connected prominent Democrats to the convicted sex offender. ...

In a news invironment where Trump's relationship and sexual escapades with Epstein was the top story, sexual victims of Trump could come forward (he's already been convicted of rape in civil court, so not implausible), like this woman who became fearful when it looked like Trump could win the election in 4 days:

A woman who accused Donald Trump of raping her two decades ago when she was a 13-year-old aspiring teen model has again dropped a federal lawsuit over the alleged assaults.

The accuser, identified in the lawsuit by the pseudonym "Jane Doe," was expected to appear at a news conference in Los Angeles Wednesday, but that appearance was abruptly canceled.

The lawyer who organized the event, Lisa Bloom, said Trump's accuser had received threats and was too frightened to show up.

C. Can help point authorities in the right direction. name names of victims, IOW cooperate and desperately want to avoid being outed as a guest

#148 | Posted by eberly

Either they complete the investigation using the list as evidence leading to a conclusion and arrests or they release the list for the court of public opinion to deal with. Since they already gave up on the former, only the latter is left. Trump and his DOJ chose this route, now innocent people will have to suffer consequences unless they can prove their innocence.

We shouldn't bury our collective head in the sand on this. If there's evidence Bill Clinton abused children, he deserves prison. Either Biden didn't release the list to protect folks like Bill Clinton or he didn't release the list because it was part of an ongoing investigation into a wider criminal enterprise. Possibly both are true. At least Biden didn't push his DOJ to drop the investigation like Trump's DOJ did. That in and of itself is suspicious, IMO.

Trump must have interest in a gold spray paint conglomerate. I bet Eric has huffed paint. That would explain a lot.

EBERLY

Biden on the list? Ha ha. He's too religious and principled.

Besides, even if he was ... reminds me of a joke:

A 90-year-old man's on top of a hooker. She says, "you got it in yet, honey?" He says, "Everything but the head."

Trump's whole pitch was he was different from politicians. That's why he got elected remember?

Biden didn't release the list

I don't recall Biden campaigning on releasing the list.

Or his Attorney General claiming they had the list on their desk ready to be released.

Why don't you cry about Biden more.

It's truly hilarious now that rwingers feel they have to somehow blame Biden for... everything, because they can't talk about all the positive stuff Trump... isn't doing.

Like I said yesterday,

"Since Biden handed Trump the worst economy in the history of the country, yes, we are still recovering from it. We may never fully recover from what Biden did, so I would expect to see more inflation in the future. It is so sad what he did to us."

Biden will be responsible for whatever Jerome Powell does even though Trump appointed him.

He needs to be held accountable for growing old in office.

How dare he!

No worries. Our Congress is on it!

The instant I heard Epstein was dead I thought Trump killed him.

Even a month ago that thought was rather, if not completely, fantastical.

But the longer Trump threatens, raves, and stonewalls about Epstein the more convinced now that it's true.

What's funny is, at this point, even if Trump does release the List people are going to think he's hiding names from it.

Wow... it's very forgiving of Eb to be SO concerned about innocents being caught up in the pedophile legal dragnet that we should just forget the whole thing.

I'm tearing up.... almost.

"Trump makes it personal with MAGA over Epstein

Calls for a special counsel spiked Wednesday, with sources telling Axios that it would take the launch of an independent investigation into Epstein's operation and supposed intelligence ties to satiate the base.

Raheem Kassam, The National Pulse's editor-in-chief, said: "President Trump sat for interviews during the campaign and committed to releasing more Epstein files. If he's changed his mind, he should at least be willing to explain to his voters why."

"If he maintains that he no longer wants the support of those who want more information, his terms may be acceptable to more people than he realizes."

Wasn't The Virgin Island the name of Epstein's Caribbean playground? :-)

Musk is certainly having a great time playing with this:

"Wow amazing that Epstein 'killed himself' and Ghislaine is in federal prison for a 'hoax."

Epstein files are so bad for Trump he's calling MAGA base 'weaklings.' Uh-oh. usatoday.com

We don't know what's in the Jeffrey Epstein files, but we now know it's so bad for President Donald Trump that he'll turn on his rabidly loyal MAGA base, mocking them as "stupid" and "weaklings," to keep it hidden.

As a longtime chronicler of Trump and his MAGA movement, allow me to say this: Wow. Whatever is in those Epstein files must be devastating for the president, because nurturing his base so he can continue separating them from their money has always been his primary objective, and labeling them foolish weaklings risks a schism.

...

Right-wing weirdo Laura Loomer is one of the MAGA activists closest to Trump, and she told Politico this July 16: "Obviously, this is not a complete hoax given the fact that Ghislaine Maxwell is currently serving 20 years in prison in Florida for her crimes and activities with Jeffrey Epstein, who we know is a convicted sexual predator. This is why I said, and I'll reiterate it again, the best thing that the president can do is appoint a special counsel to handle the Epstein files investigation."

I hate it when MAGA-mom and MAGA-dad fight. I hate it even more when I have to say this: Loomer is right.

One problem with Trump trying to brush Epstein off as a hoax is that Epstein associate Maxwell was, to quote a 2022 Justice Department press release, sentenced to "240 months in prison for her role in a scheme to sexual exploit and abuse multiple minor girls with Jeffrey Epstein over the course of a decade."

"My closest friend for 10 years": Epstein discusses Trump friendship in newly released tapes (November 2024)
www.yahoo.com

... The notorious sex trafficker and financier Jeffrey Epstein once called Donald Trump his "closest friend."

That reveal came on Saturday night when journalist Michael Wolff shared tapes of an interview he held with the late criminal via The Daily Beast.

In the clips shared by Wolff, Epstein notes the way that Trump is able to charm people by telling them what they want to hear. He also accused the former president of being a "horrible human being" who had affairs with his "best friends' wives." ...

Epstein said that his "closest friend for 10 years" had a great mind for real estate, but was otherwise a complete dullard.

"With respect to real estate deals, he's brilliant," Epstein said. "Anything else but that, he knows nothing." ...

Trump calls epstein a HOAX just like he calls everything else that is bad for him a hoax.

He says it until his cult of morons believe it. They think russiagate was a hoax. They think the 2020 election was a hoax. They'll think this is a hoax before long. He just needs them to swallow that he's being framed by the satanic democrats.

#192 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2025-07-16 05:19 PM

Speak,

"They think Russiagate was a hoax."

Damn right it wasn't a hoax.

It was a calculated smear campaign funded by Hillary Clinton's campaign to make it look like Trump was colluding with Russia.

They paid for the Steele dossier, peddled it to the FBI and the media, and watched the narrative spiral.

The real scandal wasn't collusion. It was how far they went to make people believe it.

And I see you still do.
