Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, June 13, 2025

"We are not going away," [DHS Secretary Kristi Noem] said, referring to the National Guard and DHS presence in Los Angeles this week amid protests against Trump's sweeping and drastic deportation mission in the city. "We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city."

... Noem: Fed is 'liberating' Los Angeles ...

You mean the same Sec Noem who thought that Habeas Corpus meant the Pres Trump can suspend someone's Constitutional Right to due process?

That Sec Noem?

Someone should ask her what she thinks the word "liberating" means.

Because what's happening in Los Angeles in an invasion by the federal government.

I had jury duty a couple years ago for a gang shootout where someone died.

One thing I saw was they all carried guns (legal mind you) and were always either on their person or under a car seat.

One thing I noticed is the lack of hesitation they had when pointing and shooting a gun.

Frankly, I learned most people who own guns for home defense, even with training, would very likely die in a situation where they were defending their home.

Why?

Because these gun carrying violent sorts don't hesitate to shoot.

That being said security didn't know what kind of individual was rushing the stage.

They're likely trained to react fast.

#45 | Posted by BillJohnson at 2025-06-13 02:57 PM | Reply

Some facts for the magat scum

1. This occurred in a highly secure federal building, so the idea he had a gun is ludicrous

2. Padilla was there for a meeting with head of US Northern command about the military operation.

3. Padilla was escorted to his meeting by FBI and HHS (?) personnel

4. When his meeting was postponed and he learned of the press conference he was escorted to that press conference by FBI and HHS (?) personnel

5. He was wearing a shirt that said US Senate, clearly visible

6. It is patently absurd that Noem's security or Noem did not recognize Padilla-Padilla is the ranking Senator on the subcommittee that oversees immigration

7. He responded to Noem's statement about liberating LA and was IMMEDIATELY confronted by security consisting of FBI and apparently Secret Service members.

8. He immediately identified himself by name and title

9. Noem has refused to respond to Padilla and his subcommittee's request for information

10. It is patently absurd that the FBI and, again, SS (possibly) did not know exactly who he was when he entered the room as he was escorted by other FBI agents.

11. Noem IMMEDIATELY lied about the encounter

So, all of you ----- can ---- off with your lies. And, oh btw, THIS is why you are held in disdain, you defend the indefensible with lies.

Oh and bill you farking idiot, Padilla is brown no black.

and

Padilla broke a lot of protocol rules.

Was there going to be a time for questions? Wait. If not...

If he's going to interrupt, fine. Just identify yourself, and ask the question or make a statement. Or have a press conference of your own, debunking the claims.

Also...why TF wasn't he wearing his Senate pin? He had to purposely take it off, right? And that would've allowed security to identify him, right?

Finally, if you're interrupting, you don't get to "approach" as well. If anything, you should be speaking to everyone, not just the presenter. My guess is, standing there would've been tolerated. Approaching the speaker is a breach of space.

===

All that said, once he identified himself, throwing him out is just for the headlines.

On top of that how do you think security details work? You think they just show up and stand around?

NO

They get a briefing on everything going on in the building. There would be constant communication between all security forces. They would screen people entering the building (very thorough screening btw). They would have been aware that the Podilla meeting was taking place. They would have been made aware that Podilla was going to the presser, since the FBI were providing security for both Podilla and Noem.

This is INCREDIBLY basic stuff but too much for some to understand.

Again, if they DIDN'T know who Podilla was they were GROSSLY incompetent.

One theory: Trumpf may be trying to discredit and destroy Gavin Newsome's potential 2028 presidential candidacy. He saw the entirety of the Biden Administration going after him with the Special Counsel. Another theory: The Trumpf junta is seeding the American mind that seeing the US military everywhere should be a common everyday occurrence. BILLJOHNSON,

Traitor. Liar.

They absolutely knew who he was. They should be summarily fired. Puppy killer cosplay Barbie should be impeached.

You know, and I know, that if this had happened to someone like Josh Hawley or Ted Cruz, you'd be losing your mind right now.

FDT and everyone who voted for him. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.
