Weakening America's intelligence capabilities doesn't make us safer. After 9/11, Congress created the role of DNI to improve intelligence sharing and help prevent future attacks. We can't let President Trump put political vendettas ahead of our security.[image or embed]

Donald Trump has done everything possible to make us think that he wants another 911.

His motivations for this evil are crystal clear.

Didn't he brag about Trumpanzee Tower getting to be the tallest building because of that?

He was the Hero of 911, being dragged out of the rubble as he was saving people!

Donald Trump actually died on 911.

And on the third day he rose and brought his own workers down to Ground Zero to aid in reconstruction.

I was 10 and living overseas. I was watching Spongebob just before dinner when they interrupted the telecast.

"I remember getting a call from the fire department commander, telling me that they were not sure they were gonna be able to contain the fire, and I said, 'We've had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it.' And they made that decision to pull and we watched the building collapse."

"Pull it" is not firefighter terminology.

"Pull it" is demolition terminology.

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming

And the sign said, "The words of the prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sounds of silence"

Up to 9/11 I was able to access several green-ink jihadi recruiting websites - basically, pack your bags, because if you're really interested in what we're interested in you'll know someone you can contact type stuff. They disappeared on 9/11.

Actually Islam is so peaceful that we have to remind ourselves how peaceful it is after every single terrorist attack on the west.

Today, with religious hate in their hearts, with pure anti American murderous bigotry on their lips, 25 years from a day we thought would make us stronger 'united as one,' ... the Trump MAGA Right seems to be asking for a continuation of the violence. We traded our civil liberties for a false sense of security, and somehow managed to end up more paranoid, divided, and thoroughly cranky than ever before. If that ain't the grand American tradition in action and cooperation, I don't know what is.

"The path of the downed aviator is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of camaraderie and duty, shepherd the lost through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. "

"And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to capture and destroy my brother. And you will know my call sign is Sandy 1 when I lay my vengeance upon thee, and amen."

And then in the aftermath, W told the EPA to say the air was fine down at ground zero.

He got on TV and told everyone to go shopping.

Ghouliani and W hid the reports that the air was filled with asbestos and carcinogens that would eventually cause the death of first responders searching for the missing while the GOP was busy blocking votes in Congress to get them financial help with their illnesses proving again and again that the GOP is a collection of the most evil ---- on the planet.

For some reason, a post-9/11 memory blossomed after years locked away, nothing major, just indicative of the time. A couple of months or so after 9/11 I boarded my first airline flight since the attacks, Chicago to DC, I think it was. Anyway, a couple of stewardesses greeted passenger on entry, discreetly asking males who looked as though they had size and/or agility on their side if they'd mind just keeping an eye out on their fellow passengers and be prepared to help out if required, a whispered request/plea acceed3d to with a nod in the grim affirmative. At the time? Real. It remains an uncomfortable memory from that era.

6. Anyone watching in real time saw the puffs of smoke every thirty or stories or so just before the towers fell in their imprint.

Just like happens when they take down big buildings.

I don't care about theories. I'm just saying what I saw and my immediate reaction.

Earlier this week we drove past an exit in PA for the Flight 97 memorial. If you don't think the US itself took down that plane with a missile, not due to the heroism of its passengers, you be foolin yourself.

25 years later and there's still zero explanation for tower 7 free falling the same exact way as towers 1 & 2 did.

Do you moan about the excessive per-capita violence exacted by the State of Israel presumptively under the guise of being a Jewish state?

Or do you wail about the United States, trying at the top to be a Christian nation, being a stupidly vain and thoroughly violent nation, domestically and internationally?

Any Retorters beat their wives in the name of Christ this week?

Yes. Memories. That's how we know Time. We can remember the past but cannot remember the future. Seems such an obvious thing but contains such great truths.

I miss the Time when It was just assumed we'd take care of each other in emergencies. Well except for them there coloreds. I guess they were own their own back then, too. Like they are now that finally America is Great Again.

Probably only dementia that keeps my wife hanging in there with me. Gotta play it as it lies.

We were at the end of history where liberal democracy had triumphed, technology was advancing rapidly, and it was the start of a new Millennium, where the average person was actually looking forward to the future, something that feels alien to us now. Then the Twin Towers fell, and so too did the quality of life in America by every conceivable metric, from culture and entertainment to privacy and the economy. Even if the average person can't pinpoint exactly what policies have lead to the hellscape we're suffering, everyone knows America on September 10th, 2001 was the high water mark and we'll never come close to that greatness again

Of the 3,000 or so dead at 9/11, about 15 or 20 were from my very small high school that graduated about 70 kids a year. Crazy odds.

Too many of them were superoverachievers working at Cantor Fitzgerald. Top floors. There for the Benjamins. Didn't pay off too well.

9/11 didn't cancel the future, it was a test America failed that did: they turned the site into a memorial instead of building back bigger and better.
The white Western world then spent the next nearly 3 decades getting fisted at the airports because we didn't segregate the coloureds from the whites.
And even now, or at least after Afghan retreat and pre-Iran war, there was a moment where we might've been able to safely roll back all this over zealous tyrannical ---- that was introduced since 9/11, and to get back to some 90s freedom. But instead we decided to stay firmly tight on Mr Bone's Wild Ride, as the West is flooded with D-Day levels of ----skins every single day.

9/11/2001, the day our government put Netanyahu's ambitions ahead of America's future.

What have we to show for it?

Trillions wasted and a weaker nation.
