Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Missing Link) derailed a House Oversight Committee meeting Thursday by insulting Rep. Jasmine Crockett's (D-Texas) "fake eyelashes." Attacking the physical appearance of another member is against House rules, but the committee's Republican chair ruled to allow it, leading Crockett to respond, "I'm just curious, just to better understand your ruling. If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody's bleach blonde, bad built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?"

An uproar ensued, with Committee chair James Comer (R-Ky.) calling for order, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) demanding the committee "take down" Greene's words, essentially reprimanding her for insulting another lawmaker.

"That is absolutely unacceptable, how dare you attack the physical appearance of another person," Ocasio-Cortez said.

Comer soon suspended the hearing for several minutes so lawmakers could confer with their parliamentary experts, and Greene agreed to "strike" her words, but she refused to apologize.

Eventually, after several more minutes of parliamentary arguing, the committee voted to allow Greene to finish her allotted speaking time. But Crockett wasn't finished.

"I'm just curious, just to better understand your ruling," Crockett said. "If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody's bleach blonde, bad built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?"

"What now?" Comer said.

It's hard to ever feel sorry for Comer, but this incident comes close in engendering him some sympathy. Is this the first catfight to break out in a House subcommittee? Between MTG projecting that AOC "(doesn't) have the intelligence" to debate her, and then Crockett asking the chair if it's alright to "start talking about somebody's bleach blonde, bad(ly) built butch body," there likely isn't an elected GOP man alive prepared to understand, much less handle this situation with anything approaching aplomb.

But the absolute lack of respect and decency shown her fellow elected officials and for the institution of representative government itself constantly shown by MTG is appalling and falls far beneath what should be expected by anyone elected to national office. She's an absolute disgrace.

MTG is the WWE representative for low iq GOP voters.

She is the direct result of the dumbing down of the electorate by Rush Limbaugh, etc.

Her antics underlie the fact that she has authored exactly zero meaningful pieces of legislation. All she offers is hate and insults and pipe bombs.

Nah, that dude empowers he by feeding her demands for attention. He is almost as bad as she is, but just less public about being trash.

His entire Biden impeachment fiasco should be the end of his political career, but with gerrymandering districts he is safe. He is quickly finding out what Qevin McCarthy found out...no amount of chain on that dog will prevent her from biting you. Magat Mike was only saved by democrats last time when dotards attack dog went for him...they have stated that they will not save him again after the bulls**t he pulled in NYC. Moscow Marge is just waiting in the wings to kick mikey out of the speaker chair.

I don't feel sorry for anyone that feeds her constant need for attention.

Pelosi handled her correctly...strip her of all committee assignments once she started her tantrums over masks and weapons.

Green needs what we used to call - (LOL) - "a career adjustment."

The only way to get rid of Greene is for Democrats to run a candidate in Georgia strong enough to burn Greene at the stake (figuratively speaking) in November.

I can't believe the constituents in her district aren't looking at her and wincing.

I'm not at all surprised that her constituents are much less educated than the rest of GA and the country overall. I'm a little surprised there aren't more mobile homes, I figured that would be half the single family dwellings. Chickens, marble, and not much else comes from GA's 14th.

My mom was raised there, I visited my grandparents there, it's beautiful country. My grandfather never had much use for politics he was too busy running the farm he built from nothing.

My mom took language classes to get rid of her accent when she got to college, lived all over the US, traveled the world, and then retired to GA's 1st. It took about 3 years before she was a rabid fox watcher, WND and Epoch Times reader, and Trump supporter. If she was in the 14th still I can't imagine her not voting for MTG because at this point she would vote for a boiled potato before a democrat.
