"... retaliation is real."

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
- Frank Herbert, Dune

The mostly male Republican Congress should be ashamed that they are wearing Golden Idol Bust lapel pins in honor of Traitor Trump... while one of the only women in their Club has more balls than they do.

"Last month, she said her fellow GOP colleagues are "afraid" to speak out against the president and risk drawing a primary."

This cowardice is why we're in the mess we're in. To be more afraid of losing a job than you are of losing the entire country is insanity.

In a sane world every single Republican that won't stand up to Trump's BS would be voted out. They are not public servants.

US GDP per capita = $82,769.40. So right off the bat, congressmen make double the average American at $174,000 per annum. Then they slide over to another well-paying position if they lose their election. How many retired congressmen work as greeters at Wal-Mart, drivers for Amazon, or food preparers at McDonalds?

But what if a leader's actions seem authoritarian, not because they want more power, but because they're pushing back against a political movement using the courts to force an anti-constitutional agenda?

Back in the early 80s, I worked part-time at a federal government office after class.

The running joke? "Get a government job and you're set. You won't get fired."

What does it say when job security is tied more to the system than to performance?

Now Murkowski's upset but why? Isn't it mostly because people with lifetime job expectations are feeling the axe?

Government bureaucracy has ballooned into something massive, inefficient, and unaccountable. And now that it's getting trimmed, suddenly it's a crisis.

Maybe the real problem is that the system protected itself for too long and now it feels unfair to those who are part of it.

Running a deficit does not imply potential bankruptcy.

In bad years California has run a deficit in the tens of billions of dollars. And yet this year our budget is roughly balanced.

And States cannot even declare bankruptcy anyway.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Code does not include provisions for state bankruptcy filings.

If they aren't firing people based on job performance and they can't show any fraud and they keep having to rehire people because it turns out they are really important people/jobs...what else could they be firing people based on?

Come on, you can do this. Even you can't be too dense to get it. Come on, buddy, make us all proud.

Here's how each agency firing benefits Musk's businesses:

1 Department of Transportation (DOT)
"" Regulates Tesla's self-driving tech & Boring Co. tunnels.
"" Weakening DOT reduces liability for Tesla crashes & speeds tunnel approvals.

2 Department of the Interior (DOI)
"" Controls federal land & environmental rules.
"" SpaceX & Boring Co. rely on federal land for launches & tunnels"less oversight benefits Musk.

3 Department of Justice (DOJ)
"" Investigates Tesla & SpaceX for labor & discrimination violations.
"" Fewer DOJ resources mean less legal pressure on Musk's companies.

4 National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
"" Tesla has faced union-busting & illegal firings.
"" Weakened NLRB lets Musk suppress unions freely.

5 Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)
"" EEOC has investigated Tesla for racial & gender discrimination.
"" Firing EEOC officials halts ongoing lawsuits against Musk's businesses.

6 Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) '
"" CFPB regulates auto loans"Tesla offers in-house financing.
"" Less oversight could allow unfair lending practices.

7 Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) "
"" SEC has fined Musk for stock manipulation.
"" A weaker SEC reduces future penalties & financial oversight.

8 Department of Defense (DoD)
"" SpaceX has billion-dollar military contracts.
"" Less oversight could lead to unchecked government deals.

9 Federal Election Commission (FEC)
"" Regulates campaign spending"Musk uses X to influence elections.
"" Weak FEC lets him push political agendas unchecked.

" Office of Government Ethics (OGE)
"" OGE investigates government conflicts of interest.

He was making fun of the fact that far right wing Trumpers levy threats against anyone that doesn't kowtow to Trump immediately, even other Republicans.

A child could see this. So naturally, the trump brigade here is ------ clueless.

In case you are wondering, see comments 16 and 17.

See if you can spot an attempt at humor. I can't find any.

So the Supreme Court isn't really doing anything Snoofy agrees with so he recommends flying a plane into the court bEcAuSe rEpUbLiCaNs!!! Gotcha, so simple a child could see it. Snoofy has been called out on his racist and hateful ---- since I've been coming to this site, and that's somewhere around 20 years now. You're retarded as JPW.

No, the supreme court ruled against trump 9-0. Now trumpers are mad about it. Hence Snoofys facetious comment.

You are an absolute imbecile.

Do you remember when I said that?
It was after the Supreme Court ruled against Trump.
I regret to inform you that you did not get the joke.

Congratulations to the trolls.

Lisa Murkowski: 'We Are All Afraid' of Retaliation

Murkowski has just given an extremely powerful talking point to every democrat running for office: "if you're too afraid to do your job, QUIT"!!!

"Interesting how a thread about republicans fearing Trump has turned into a thread about Snoofy."

It's because they don't know how to engage with politics.
They don't have discussions, they don't talk about ideas and concepts.
They don't weigh the pros and cons of anything the government might choose to do, or not to.
They don't understand the concept of "Opportunity Cost."
They don't do these things in their private lives, in their communities, or at their jobs -- and most of them don't even have jobs.

Their only fluency is demonstrated when it comes to expressing their hatred for their perceived enemies.

George Orwell imagined a society where citizens are given Two Minutes of Hate.
But Republicans have been marinating in their own hatred for thirty years.

A direct quote can be taken out of context, as you dummies have chosen to do.

I never really supported term limits as I naively felt that the ballot box was a built in term limiter of bad politicians and a rule limiting terms may only force out a good one.

Having grown up though, I realize that politicians are "forced" to be bad actors to keep their job.

The initial intent of our government was not to have career politicians... and this article just reinforces the need for term limits.

If you don't fear being primary-ed then maybe you'll do the right thing.

"Government bureaucracy has ballooned into something massive, inefficient, and unaccountable. And now that it's getting trimmed, suddenly it's a crisis.

Maybe the real problem is that the system protected itself for too long and now it feels unfair to those who are part of it.

You are one stupid SOB. They are firing the workers that run the country. I work for the NPS and so far they have fired the only electrician and locksmith in Yosemite NP. That really helps get rid of corruption right you dumb ass? Just keep on believing their lies and you will feel first hand what it is like to be screwed over by those you voted for. For now, piss off!

You can't actually demonstrate any of the inefficiency, though.

You're making aspirational statements. Not statements supported by a body of evidence.

I thought you brainless right wingers were all about an eye for an eye? You do know that CEO had made his wealth off the backs of people his company supposedly covered for health care only to deny them their claims and let them die? That is murder and I dare say premeditated murder which is 1st degree and usually a capital offense in many states that claim red.

Fishy, if you're worried about the national debt you must be terrified about tRump in the white house again. He's already spending more per day than Biden and the three worst president's for creating debt were Reagan, Dubya and Donny.
And Donny wants to eliminate the debt ceiling...
