More from the article ...

... State Democratic officials are preparing for chaos at the polls this November, as President Donald Trump casts doubt on election security and pushes for more federal involvement in local voting.

"We're no longer talking about hypothetical situations," said Nick Brown, Washington state's Democratic attorney general, noting the president's push to nationalize election administration and to question the integrity of upcoming elections.

Brown is among the many Democratic state officials raising alarms over how Trump may seek to interfere with or challenge the results of November's midterms. At stake is not only whether Republicans will maintain their grip on Congress, but also the control of state legislatures across the country. Democratic gains at either the state or national levels could provide a new check on Trump, who has sought to significantly expand executive power in his second term.

State lawmakers have introduced new legislation this year with the aim of protecting polling places this November. And behind closed doors, Democratic attorneys general and local election officials have sought to anticipate and prepare for ways the federal government could interject itself into local elections. ...

It's almost a lead-pipe cinch that ICE thugs will show up at polling places in parts of the country where voters have darker skin. DOJ 'poll watchers' will be in heavy presence in similar places, and if they can will administer poll tests and taxes (e.g., recite the Declaration of Independence verbatim, or count tell us the number of pennies in this 50-gallon barrel). In my time in Okiehomie I waited in line for 3-4 hours TWICE to vote in presidential elections, and I suspect that in Red States there will be similar wait times come November, if there are elections at all.

Before the election, Americans of all colors, shapes and sizes must make it known through peaceful demonstration that they will show up in force at the polls, and that they will report to the 'alternate' poll watchers coming from the Left. Der Dotard wants disruption and chaos--don't give it to him...

Trump and his MAGAt lickspittles are way out of their lane on this.

Article I Legislative Branch

I hope America's so-called system of checks and balances can withstand MAGA's effort to bypass them.

At one time we thought they were infallible in protecting the will of the majority. We know now that a madman who ignores reality, acts entirely in his own interest and has cultivated a following of conspiracy-minded kooks can do serious damage to such safeguards. Anyone still defending Trump is as guilty as he is.

Trump Issues Vague Response to Idea for National Emergency Ahead of Midterm (August 11, 2026)
www.newsweek.com

... President Donald Trump gave a somewhat vague answer Tuesday when asked whether he and his team planned to declare a national emergency ahead of the midterm elections in an effort to boost his voting proposals.

The president was speaking to Wayne Allyn Root on Real America's Voice, with the host asking about plans for voter ID and limits to mail-in ballots laid out in the SAVE America Act, which the U.S. Senate has yet to pass -- something which has frustrated Trump.

"Stranger things have happened," Trump said when asked about the power he has to declare a national emergency. "I'll leave it at that." ...

The headline says it's no longer hypothetical, but the article reads like states are preparing for something that still remains entirely hypothetical.

It provides no details of any actual ICE actions at polling places. In fact, ICE explicitly said, "ICE is not planning operations targeting polling locations."

It "implies" they are preparing for the "possibility". Because Trumpy refuses to rule it out. Not that it is no longer "hypothetical ".

Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon is calling on administration officials to issue a national emergency declaration regarding election integrity, including a policy to allow the presence of federal immigration agents at polling booths during the upcoming midterms.

I mean...we all know how peaceful Democrats are when they demonstrate.

#70 | Posted by BillJohnson

How many times have democrats attacked the capitol because a fascist con man told them an election was stolen when it wasn't?

America has had many riots, we've only had one coup attempt.

Making it safer to vote during a pandemic wasn't a scandal moron. It was common sense. And there was no significant fraud as a result. The "loss of faith" in voting that resulted goes back to my previous statement - that you are dedicated to swallowing fascist propaganda. The fascist propaganda channels told you it wasn't secure so you believed it.

Speak,

I had doubts about the accuracy of mail-in voting on my own.

Contrary to what you might think, not everyone who voted for Trump hangs on his every word. That's something you apparently need to believe.

What is my opinion today? I have never said that I believe Trump actually won.

What I will say is that the exact tally will never be known with absolute certainty.

A recount can verify that the ballots received were added correctly, but it cannot determine whether every ballot counted was valid or account for legitimate ballots that may have been lost or damaged before they could be received and counted.

If the original data was corrupted, counting it again will not make it more accurate.

You could say that about literally every election in history because you're demanding perfection which doesn't exist.

But there wasn't a mass belief in the election system being flawed enough for elections to be swayed until a fascist con man crybaby couldnt admit he lost, and a fascist media movement gave support to his lies.

The elections of 2016 or 2024 will never be known with absolute certainty but your cult leader won so you're find with them and you have no problem stating with confidence who won.

Dan,

Assuming they were eligible voters and wanted to vote, were they being suppressed in any way simply because a ballot wasn't mailed to their house?

I'm not counting on you to give a rational answer but we both know they were not probably thinking they are being suppressed because they weren't mailed a ballot.

Most likely they didn't even think of that prior to 2020.

Dan,

If one year it was decided to drive voting trucks into neighborhoods for people to vote in person, elections after that people will complain their voting rights are being suppressed if the trucks aren't run the next election.

2020 was something special done due to COVID and now people are saying they are being suppressed if ballots aren't mailed to everyone's houses.

I believe a voter is being suppressed every time you get to tell them how they can vote. It's none of your business. Or mine, for that matter. If they want to vote absentee, or mail in, or in person, all fine. And as long as they cast the vote by the end of the voting day (including at a post office, which has always counted in the past) the vote should count ... Even if it takes two or three or five days to deliver. More reason to make sure the Postal Service remains a ... what's that word? Oh, right... a SERVICE.

Ease of voting is only one goal.

There are many other factors that must be taken into consideration equally if not more important than trying to accommodate every single person.

No, Bill ... They're just saying folks are being suppressed if they want a mail in ballot, and people like you tell them they can't have one, because you can only have it for certain reasons that you have decided, and their particular reason doesn't count.

And yes, your demands are that petty.

In your world, not wanting to wait four hours in line to cast a vote isn't enough of a reason.

And, truth be told, folks like you make other folks stand in line for four hours FOR a reason.

If they've requested it and it's been denied, yes.

If you get to tell them they don't get to vote that way ... Yes.

Back to the central question: should everyone get to choose their favorite way to participate in the voting process?

"Mail-in ballots provide an easier way for democrats to cheat"

Historically, Republicans cheat much more than Democrats. Check out the heritage foundation vote fraud site for proof.

Let me ask some serious questions. Do you believe only Democrats cheat? Do you believe Republicans cheat at all? Do you believe they both cheat the same rate? Do you believe one or the other cheats at a 10% greater rate than the other? 20% greater rate than the other? 25%? 40%? 50%? You tell me. I'll go with whatever number you choose.

And then I'll show you where your math is screwed up.

Are you brave enough to actually answer my questions?

I am referring to very specific methods of cheating available with mail-in ballots that are mailed to homes (excluding absentee ballots that are requested). Your accusations of who cheats the most historically should be taken with caution considering your propensity for out and out lying.

I am not talking about anything else. Only methods of cheating available with mail-in ballots.

This has been covered ad nauseam so I have no desire to rehash that.

I'm sure you've read all the accusations about mail-in ballots.

Because the staunch right-wing Heritage Foundation's Vote Fraud website tells a completely different story: Republicans seem to excel!

But I'm willing to pretend otherwise; just give me the percentage you believe Democrats do it more than Republicans.

Earlier you said as follows, "You're just afraid universal mail-in ballots would allow folks you don't want to vote, to vote."

Who might those people be? Assuming I am supporting the republican side, that makes the other side democrat.

I'm not saying I agree that people should be prevented from voting. That's your accusation.

But it is apparent you believe democrats have the advantage with mail-in ballots.

And they also happen to be ... surprise, surprise ... in large part, minorities.

You know the funny thing? Republicans absolutely loved mail-in ballots, when they always favored Republicans. It was only once they began favoring Democrats the mail suddenly became dangerous.

You want your own limits on absentee ballots. You're trying to tell other people how they're allowed to vote.

Again, not your business. Not mine either. Every legal voter who wants to cast a legal vote should be able to choose whichever way is most convenient for them.

Since you're too much of a coward to directly answer, I'll answer for you.

No, you don't believe only Democrats cheat.
No, you don't believe only Republicans cheat.
Despite the facts at the staunch right wing Heritage Foundation's website, you believe Democrats cheat more than Republicans. A lot more than Republicans. 25% more, or 40%, or 50% more.

Okay I'll take you at 50%. That means for every 1000 actions of Republican fraud, Democrats commit 1500 actions. I know that flies in the face of the heritage foundation, but I'm willing to pretend, to show you the math.

Do you know what that math means? When one group commits 50% MORE infractions than the other??

It means for every five instances of fraud, you net one vote. ONE.

950 instances of fraud? Less than 200 net votes.

And in all 950 cases, the threat of a $10,000 fine and a year in jail.

Who is that stupid???
