"Carlson said he believed both the US and Israel were failing their own citizens.

"I would like a democracy in the United States like I'd like one in Israel.

Israel is not a democracy; the United States apparently is not a democracy either. Our government keeps doing things that people don't want, so that's not democracy; it's the opposite of democracy."

"Of course, Israel is not a democracy in any sense. There are millions of people who live under Israeli control who cannot vote," he told Segal.

"These places which Israel has controlled since 1967 have people living in them who have no control over the government that controls their lives, which is true, it's not a democracy."

Israel "is probably the most violent country in the world," he said.

When Segal said Israel was acting in self-defense, Carlson responded that "no country has boasted more about killing its political opponents than Israel."

"Israel makes a public relations campaign out of boasting about killing its opponents."

Carlson also accused Trump of yielding to Netanyahu over Iran.

"Why did Trump let a nation of 9 million people drag a nation of 350 million people into a war that would change its future, and that is bad for the United States?"

"It's wrong that I'm paying for Israel's actions," he said. "There's no reason the United States should be sending any money at all to Israel and particularly not to its military."

The Israeli prime minister pushed the US president, he said, "who turned out to be far weaker than I understood, into a war that hurts the United States."

Mother Tucker, Ex-Cult Member!

I'm SO happy for him!

Perhaps there's hope for our Resident Cultists, too... ok, who am I kidding?

"Netanyahu is highly skeptical about the negotiations and wants to resume the war to further degrade Iran's military capabilities and weaken the regime by destroying its critical infrastructure.

Trump also said Netanyahu "will do whatever I want him to do" on Iran, though he also said they had a good relationship. The two leaders have had temporary disagreements on Iran before but have remained closely coordinated throughout the war."

--

"Trump told Netanyahu that the mediators were working on a "letter of intent" that both the U.S. and Iran would sign to formally end the war and launch a 30-day period of negotiations on issues like Iran's nuclear program and opening of the Strait of Hormuz, a U.S. source briefed on the call said.

Two Israeli sources said the two leaders were in disagreement about the way forward, while the U.S. source briefed on the call said "Bibi's hair was on fire after the call."

The source said Israel's ambassador to Washington had informed U.S. lawmakers that Netanyahu was concerned about the call. An embassy spokesperson denied that characterization and said "the ambassador does not comment on private conversations."

Two sources noted that Netanyahu has been highly worried at previous stages of the negotiations, even as deals failed to materialize.

"Bibi is always concerned," one source said."

We're going to end up with Trump's Excellent Adventure costing lives and taxpayer money for nothing other than a worse situation than before he tore up the last Agreement.

Iran remarked early on that getting Ownership of the Straits was more important to them than nukes. And they are now headed towards getting both.

These people, in their hubris, think the pitch forks can't come for them.

Point and laugh.

he problem is Trump is also taking on American problems like the border, immigration, trade, crime and government bureaucracy that many voters feel have been ignored and mismanaged for years.
So even people who dislike his personality, rhetoric, methods or even ethics may still support him because they believe he is at least confronting issues other politicians have either downplayed or endlessly talked about doing nothing.

And Mussolini made the trains run on time. Your defense of Trump is the same tired defense that has been used to defend fascists regimes time and again.

And here's the thing...those things you say he is taking on are the things he keeps getting blocked from doing because he's using illegal methods. His illegal tariffs stole hundreds of billions of dollars from Americans while ushering in a downturn in US based manufacturing that has resulted in the loss of over 100K factory jobs despite his claim that tariffs would bring about a golden age. Many of his illegal "DOGE" firings had to be reversed. The savings he promised never materialized. How many people have his ICE brownshirts murdered now? We don't even have a way to know because ICE has been caught covering up their involvement in some of the killings? The only thing he's done on crime is firing or causing the resignations of thousands of justice department employees who have either not been replaced or have been replaced with incompetent sycophants. This has resulted in 10's of thousands of federal investigations having to be dropped and countless more that will never been initiated. We've also seen a steep drop off in successful federal prosecutions. White collar prosecutions are nearly non-existent under Trump and gun and drug prosecutions are nearly as rare with some sources reporting they are down by half to as much as 90% in some states.
