Trump gets GAZA peace deal

'This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace,' Trump wrote on Truth Social. 'All Parties will be treated fairly! This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen,' he continued. 'BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!'

I'm not opposed to peace. I find it hard to believe Trump could remember all twenty points of his peace plan, but I can't argue with results.

Hopefully next he can make a peace deal with the Venezuelan drug cartels that he's been bombing, IDF style.

My point is, he is not winning the 2025 prize. It's too late. He's not even nominated. It's probably been decided for months already. The 2026 Prize is his for the taking. If he could stop the wars in Gaza and Ukraine in a meaningful way, it's his. And maybe stop with the random boat attacks in the Caribbean. And maybe tone down the threats on the whole planet. Revisiting Kent State after all these years isn't a real "Peace Prize" look, either.

He at least got them to the table and signed something.

FWIW, I don't think it will work out. Hamas can agree to something, the PA can agree to something, but at the end of the day, Palestinians don't want peace with Israel. They want to destroy it.

In 2024, 65% of Palestinians opposed a two-state solution.

63% support the continuation of confrontation and intifada.

62% believe the PA should be dissolved.

67% support Hamas's actions on 10/7. In the west bank, it's 73%.

Palestinians have spent the last eight decades being indoctrinated into a belief that something was taken from them. That Palestine has some unique right to exist while Israel does not. I don't think there will be a state of Palestine until Palestinians care more about creating their own state than they do about destroying Israel.
