Trump had pledged to target the "worst of the worst" criminal offenders.

Federal officials have quietly begun fast-tracking cases through immigration courts as the Trump administration pushes to increase the pace of deportations. Some judges have seen their caseloads double and triple. Lawyers say the tactic is causing errors and confusion.

... he findings, based on data tracking the current Trump administration's immigration crackdown, come after President Donald Trump had pledged to target the "worst of the worst" criminal offenders among the nation's migrants.

Based on government data analyzed by ABC News as provided by ICE in response to a FOIA requests to the Deportation Data Project and the University of Washington Center for Human Rights, the findings show that immigration enforcement has affected more than 400,000 individuals with no violent criminal history, including parents and spouses of U.S. citizens.

While the 3% figure is consistent with rates seen under the Biden administration, the data shows the Trump administration is not detaining a higher proportion of violent offenders despite a significant overall increase in total detentions. ...

Terrorizing brown people is the ICE mission.

There is no "reforming" or "fixing" ICE and DHS other than completely dismantling these sinister organs of the police state meant to track Americans and permanent residents without warrant and to deport undesirables without seeing an Immigration Judge (IJ), AKA "due process."

AIPAC and status quo politicians want the USG to have the power to monitor dissidents and expel pro-Palestinian foreigners or other vulnerable people of color.

True progressives like popular and effective NYC Mayor Zorhan Mamdani (D) know this.

Wait. For the narrative of ICE sweeping up so many criminal border jumpers to be true, there have to be more such folks arrested and dealt with. So then, why are so few thug life illegals being arrested? And then why are those folks not being prosecuted for their crimes? Could it be that the narrative is false, that illegals coming to the US are here to work and support their families, and keep their heads down? I'll guess we'll never know, in this complicated world...

IN THE MEANTIME, RELEASE THE TRUMP-EPSTEIN FILES...

A day will come soon when Americans will be ashamed of their country and of their own willingness to go along and even vote for those responsible for this crime against humanity. I can almost already hear their denials. they' .b2e just like Germans after WWII; they'll say "We didn't know!" but that will be a lie. They do know but they .still just repeat the talking points and continue to support Republican politicians. Thing is though; "right and wrong" will reassert itself at some point and how we each handled this draconian abuse of human beings will finally be viewed as what it is.

The goal of ICE was never to deport the illegal immigrant criminals.

The goal of ICE was to terrorize the immigrant communities across america into leaving the nation.

It has always been about violating the constitutional rights of immigrants and deporting the people who were supposedly stealing the jobs of Americans.

Here you go Jethro...now's your turn to pick tomatoes in the FL sunshine for $12 per hour.

Enjoy.

Weird place to pick up the stats from. The peak was 50% approval. He's down all of -5 from that last year, but is within the historical average of what it's always been. The lowest it's been was 39%.

As for a voting issue, it's above guns and abortion, but it's below the economy (it's always the economy, stupid), health care, SC appointments, foreign policy (lol, campaign promises are not binding trumpers).

Violent crime ties with Immigration, but for Republicans they're also the same thing for poor immigrations.

50 years ago, Jethro used to be able to pick tomatoes for $1.50 an hour and then go buy a 50 cent pack of cigarettes and smoke away his resentment until the following morning.

Now he makes 12 dollars an hour and only has to pay 10 bucks for that same pack.

That's some real progress, I tells ya!

You don't care about the economy?
That's no surprise.
Your hatred of foreigners is lowering US GDP by 1%.

There's a cost of doing things.
Spending $150,000,000,000 to deport the same number of people we deported for just $13,000,000,000 in Trump's first term is fundamentally stupid.

Cares not that the act of residing in the country without status is largely a civil infraction rather than an ongoing criminal offense, and the unauthorized entry is considered a federal misdemeanor.

Does it matter?

I don't know of any country in the world you can enter illegally but get to stay once you enter. If you're cool.

If you want open borders, how about changing the laws?

As a side, I didn't think that being in the US illegally was a crime at all. It's just something you can't do.

"I don't know of any country in the world you can enter illegally but get to stay once you enter."

And do those countries simply send you home, or do they send you to a third-world hellhole?

Tangential question: do you get a legal hearing first, or is an accusation enough, like it is in the USA?

Re 17

Of course it matters. You are locking up humans in a concentration camp like animals for the equivalent of a traffic ticket.

If you want open borders, how about changing the laws?

You will need to define "open borders".

If you wish to tighten immigration laws then do that. Congress would be the place to do that.

I think there was even a half hearted effort to do that recently until Trumpy killed the bill. For political reasons.

They send you to the country you came from.

"Third world hellhole" is subjective. And there are policies regarding asylum seekers, but you have to follow them. You don't just get to decide you're going to live in your country of choice.

...

You get stopped because of the massive influx of immigrants and refugees. And the resultant increased fear of terrorism and threats to public safety.

Maybe you should ask yourself why there is a massive influx of immigrants and increased threat from terrorists and threats to public safety.

You may find the reasons point back to colonialism as colonization often directly creates the conditions that drive immigration and refugee crises, linking these concepts through themes of displacement, power dynamics, and the search for safety.

I remember a time when crossing European borders easily without ever being stopped to show my papers was the norm.

What happened? Wars and massive instability and social upheaval happened.

"Maybe you should ask yourself why there is a massive influx of immigrants and increased threat from terrorists and threats to public safety."

Sure. And Germany at least welcomed many refugees from Afghanistan and Syria. An inordinate amount of these people later became problems.

You may or may not know, but Germany never had an imperial presence in Afghanistan or Syria.

"I remember a time when crossing European borders easily without ever being stopped to show my papers was the norm."

It was like that until around 2025. That's when Germany re-established checkpoints, even at the Schengen border crossings.

"What happened? Wars and massive instability and social upheaval happened."

Really? Where?

In 2024, the vast majority of illegal immigrants coming across the European borders were from Syria and Afghanistan. Third was Mali.

Places where instability and social upheaval have been going on for decades. And not because of Europe. And certainly not in 2024.

"Have you seen the South Africans?"

Dude, I spend a lot of time in Norway. Virtually every cab driver I've ever used is an East African. They work in the grocery stores, and the restaurants, and the airport.

Bottom line, Norway lacks the people it needs to perform the services required to support society. They need immigrants. I'm just not sure your average Afghan or Syrian, or any other immigrant who is looking for an easier life is willing to ensure the Norwegian weather when there might be regions further south where they can get many of the same benefits more comfortably. Even if they're not really wanted.

The Social Security retirement trust fund is now projected to be depleted in late 2032, one year earlier than previously projected. Stricter immigration policies and increased deportations are significant factors, as reduced immigration means fewer workers paying into the system to support retirees.

#39 | POSTED BY JPW

The Trump administration systematically revoked or suspended legal protections for hundreds of thousands of migrants, stripping them of lawful humanitarian parole and asylum-seeker statuses so they could be classified as undocumented and deported.

And there are policies regarding asylum seekers, but you have to follow them.

If they attempt to follow those "policies" they are detained and deported. "Hundreds of thousands.."

I am curious. How do you justify that in your mind?

#43 | Posted by donnerboy at 2026-06-16 03:46 PM | Reply

It is not about deporting illegal foreigners with criminal convictions for violent crimes. It is about deporting black, brown, Chinese and Philippine people. It is also about making room for more white South Africans.
