Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

A woman who dated Maine U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner says he forced her to have sex with him nearly five years ago despite her repeated objections, an allegation Platner denies. The woman, a 41-year-old Maine resident named Jenny Racicot, detailed the alleged incident to POLITICO in three interviews over the past two weeks. POLITICO also spoke with a man Racicot dated and confided in the years after the alleged incident, and reviewed documents, including emails between Racicot and her therapist and messages between Racicot and an acquaintance whom she warned against getting involved with Platner years before he ran for office.

Graham Platner has canceled a campaign event for unclear reasons.

The cancellation comes as polls are testing other candidates against Collins, while rumors continue to circulate about a possible new scandal involving Platner.

I see 1Nut is all over this guy, but has nothing on the Pedo Protector in Chief.

Thing is, Dems seem to mostly be relieved to find about bad people before they elect them... not elect them because they are poor excuses for a human being.

Most Republicans obviously prefer their political leaders to be convicted felons like the one who grifts out of the WH, tried to illegally overturn an Election, and is STILL refusing to Obey the Law and Release the Epstein Files.

Him, you have nothing but obscene pandering for.

This is literally shooting the messenger. Something you were whining about when I asked for your request to AI.

Democrat Elites are kicking him off the ballot, he's been aligned with DSA, and now the claws are coming out.

Its been mentioned by one of you Lumpers, that its been almost 18yrs since the Democrats have had a real primary.

I see Corky is all over 1Nut's nuts, but has nothing on the Senator candidate from Maine.

It's as if because of Trump, this behavior should be ignored by a candidate for US Senate.

At least that's how Corky defends his attacks of such new items.

Cried literally an entire river over Trump's sexual crimes but wants everyone to STFU about this.

The oligarchs and AIPAC are spending a fortune to beat Graham Platner in Maine.

So, with all their pelf to hire PIs to scour Maine, the Republicans finally found someone willing to testify or perjure herself against the Democratic candidate: Where was this comely lass for the past five years?

Susan Collin's (R-Israel) good-for-nothing husband is a wealthy lobbyist:

"Susan Collins's husband's lobbying firm received over $50 million in federal contracts, with tens of millions of dollars from agencies Susan Collins oversees.

It's got to be one of the great coincidences of American history."

See below ...

It's as if because of Trump, this behavior should be ignored by a candidate for US Senate.

This has nothing to do with his behavior; this has everything to do with one week to make a switch, and Graham is a DSA supporter.

This is an internal Elite Democrat struggle, I see three factions, WestCoast (Newsom), EastCoast(Shaprio types) and DSA ...

It's going to be crazy making.

If you ignore the people who have come forward to state he raped them.

If you ignore the Epstein survivors.

If you ignore Pam Bondi saying he's in the Epstein files.

If you ignore Trump saying he can't help himself around women and he's drawn to sexually assaulting them.

If you ignore teenagers in beauty pageants saying he walked in on them while they were naked.

If you ignore the letter he wrote Epstein, the pictures of him surrounded by underage girls.

There's still the guilty charge of sexual assault against E. Jean Carroll.

Which you will also ignore.

Nothing in your diatribe is evidence of any of your accusations.

The article was a POLITICO exclusive, how much shit do you think they are sitting on about Democrats?

Maine Democratic Senate candidate Platner faces calls to withdraw after sexual assault allegation
abcnews.com

... Maine Democratic Party officials released a statement calling on Platner to withdraw as the party's nominee for Senate.

"Over the past several weeks, multiple women have made serious, credible allegations against Graham Platner. Today's statements take those allegations even further," party Chair Charlie Dingman, Vice Chair Imke Schessler and Exective Director Devon Murphy-Anderson said in a joint statement. "The Maine Democratic Party leadership stands with women and survivors, and that principle does not bend based on party affiliation. We respect the women who made the hard decision to come forward. Speaking up is often costly."

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, who chairs the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, called on Platner to withdraw and said the committee would not invest in the race if Platner doesn't. ...

"They are going to find more about the controversies that already follow him such as that nazi tattoo, his views on police, abuse victims, women, lies told about his military service and who knows what else he has hidden. They will find all the dumb stuff he has said on the internet and he's going to spend much of his campaign apologizing and blaming it on PTSD. I won't be surprised to see allegations of domestic abuse and sexual assault surface. GOP voters have shown they are willing to overlook horrible behavior, criminal even, but we are going to end up learning things about Platner that is going to result in a lot of democrats turning their backs on him.

I had heard about the conversations with her therapist, but is that evidence or hearsay? I'm not a lawyer, so I do not know how that would stand up in Court.

Who wrote the texts and social media posts? Mr Platner or someone else? Again, hearsay or evidence? Would they hold up in Court.

OK, all that aside, for a person running for office, the court of public opinion is the operative judge. And it looks pretty bad for Mr Platner.

If he drops out, that would, imo, be the right thing for him to do.

#45 | Posted by LampLighter at 2026-07-06 11:16 PM | Reply

Platner is, as the kids say, cooked. He should drop out immediately so the party can officially start the business of selecting a replacement. My recommendation, Troy Jackson. He doesn't have the charisma of Platner but he's a known quantity in Maine politics having served in multiple terms in both the state house and senate. His politics are similar to Platner's so much so that they endorsed each other when Jackson was running for the Democratic primary nomination for governor in the recent election. He lost that one but it was a strange election with Jackson being one of 4 candidates to receive at least 20% of the first place votes in what was a ranked choice election.
