The $72.5m settlement, which a federal judge has to approve, is the fourth settlement by a bank of claims by Jeffrey Epstein victims or a government entity alleging they abetted his trafficking while Epstein was a customer.

In 2023, JPMorgan Chase agreed to pay Epstein victims $290m and separately to pay the US Virgin Islands $75m. Deutsche Bank, that same year, agreed to pay victims $75m.

In Aug 2019, Epstein somehow miraculously killed himself in near impossible conditions in a secure federal correctional center in Manhattan just weeks after his arrest on federal child sex trafficking charges and before he could threaten to drop names in exchange for a lenient plea agreement.

Thanks for posting.

Former D/NCTC Joe Kent is spot on about Israeli access in Wash DC and their differing agenda from the US.

I was pleasantly surprised by his elocution. I counted perhaps one "you know" or "um" in those ~15 minutes.

The cat photo bomb was great.

I am unable to discuss specifics, but when I was in the USIC, after I read some Israeli intelligence reports for the first time, I never read them again.

In all of my 27 years in the USIC, I cited only one Israeli report in my investigations or analysis which came from their Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. They posted a warning to Israeli citizens in a Maghreb country to exercise caution because of a reported terrorism threat. (https//:mfa,gov,il).

Otherwise I completely ignored Israeli intelligence reports.

I don't recall any of my colleagues citing their reports either.

Our NATO allies and the Jordanians provided excellent raw reporting. NATO finished intel products are just as good as ours.

Except for one misstep regarding Afghanistan, Jordan's Mukhabarat was a superb intelligence partner for the US during my tenure.
