Trump Wins

Donald Trump has defeated Kamala Harris to become the 47th president of the United States. Preliminary exit polls show Trump captured 63% of the rural vote, a notable increase from the 57% he won four years ago. Harris struggled to build on Joe Biden's urban support and narrowly lost suburban voters, a group Biden had previously won. The polls also indicate that Trump may have garnered a larger share of the Latino vote than any Republican since George W. Bush, with 45% support, up from 32% in 2020.

#6 | Posted by shane at 2024-11-06 08:55 AM

I called it correctly last week and this week.
Still, a shame for America. We live in a nation neither savage nor wise.

We have become a richer, slightly more polished version of Russia, a corrupt oligarchy.

For those of you who voted for Trump:
in four years, when he has done nothing but made one ridiculous photo-op after another, ignored Russia's and China's military advances, broken our European alliances (again), hurt human rights and women's rights, and enriched himself at EVERY opportunity by bllling the USA taxpayer for his own hotels and properties, what will you say was "great again"?

When the simple fact of the matter is 50% of Americans chose the monster. They chose to destroy our country. They chose the economic collapse. They chose the deportation of millions. They chose corruption on an epic scale. They chose a nationwide abortion ban. They chose Project 2025. They chose a banding Ukraine. They chose a conservative Supreme Court for the next 60 years. They chose the destruction of the administrative state. They chose stripping women of their rights. They chose the military to put down dissent with the military and violence. They chose marching the us military into cities. They chose a DoJ pursuing a madman's agenda

They chose chaos

During a time of prosperity

They willingly believed lies.

American voters have no excuse to not know what that man is. None zero

May the American voter get everything they voted for

Both women and minorities are concerned more about their ability to feed and clothe their families than free abortion and LGBTQ hoopla. The DNC got it wrong.

Buying a home under Biden/Harris on average went up over to over $400,000

On his social media platform, X (a.k.a. Twitter), an anonymous user posted Tuesday that, "If Trump succeeds in forcing through mass deportations, combined with Elon hacking away at the government, firing people and reducing the deficit - there will be an initial severe overreaction in the economy ... Market will tumble. But when the storm passes and everyone realizes we are on sounder footing, there will be a rapid recovery to a healthier, sustainable economy."

Musk replied, "Sounds about right."

Look how great the last 2 major market tumbles benefited Americans-the great recession and the great depression.

Both conservative messes that had to be saved by democrats.

You really really are stupid, you know

Oh btw, there will most certainly will NOT be a rapid recovery to a healthier sustainable economy.

"Hillary won [a plurality of] the popular vote."

That doesn't make her a better candidate. Harris didn't have the baggage that Clinton did and didn't do anything as off-putting as "people don't like me because I'm a woman. " She made some serious misteps at the end, though, between her twee snl appearance and refusing to go on Rogan and not strongly rebuking Biden's garbage gaffe.

"Because Americans are stupid.

There is no other reason."

If Americans could witness and experience firsthand the oppression and destruction that their own elected government (and its institutional enablers) has foisted upon other parts of the world, then perhaps they wouldn't be so stupid.

The Democrats can't continue to exist as a viable choice by responding to the pig Republican party by being just a pig wearing lipstick.

Yav,

Of course, regardless who won, half of America will be disappointed.

However, I think it will be a fair statement to suggest he'll have a genuine mandate.

We'll wait and see how these last states come in.

After 4 years of reading about Biden's narrow victory and condemning conservatives...yea...I'm happy with the results.

#96 | Posted by BillJohnson at 2024-11-06 10:58 AM

Americans are too stupid to realize that what ------- proposes will have one inevitable result-an economic crash.

America does not have the industrial infrastructure to absorb the manufacturing it will need to match today's global economy. The raw materials, the industries the parts-America simply doesn't produce them. Therefore once the tariffs are imposed ---- will become simply unavailable. And ------- fails to understand that other countries have power too, they can pose reciprocal tariffs resulting in crushing our exports-more bailouts for big agriculture. All this leads to global insecurity and market crashes meaning less money for investment.

The best you can hope for is ------- doesn't do what he said he was going to do.

Trump was let off the hook on that one - winning in so many of those states while the anti-abortion amendments won overwhelmingly.

Floria now gets to live under minority rule on that issue. The minority (clear) dictates to the majority about what women can do with their bodies, and doctors can do about their patients health.

I said Americans in general. It's a fact that Americans had to begin using their retirements to feed themselves. When Trump was in office people had more discretionary money to spend. Now they don't. I haven't been a ---------- on this thread and I've tried to stick to actual facts that led us to this point as a country. Trump won the EC and looks like he may have won the popular vote by 5+ million. No one in their right mind would say that that many people are just plain retarded. We can debate that, or not. Fact is, more people trust them than they did Harris and Co. to run the country.

No one is arguing that the American people aren't voicing their concerns through voting. the point is that Americans who voted for ------- are either stupid or evil. There is NO other option.

------- is who he is. He is obviously unfit for office. Anyone who voted for him has ZERO excuse for not knowing who he is. They have no excuse for not knowing what he will do. Zero, none.

He will do bad things. he will destroy the economy. He is responsible for the inflation that Americans are suffering from. Solely? NO, but he holds a significant responsibility for it.

Compare it to 2008, Bush tanked the economy leading to the great recession. Obama brought us back from that. 2024 is like America voting W back into office in 2012. That would be stupid. It is stupid to put the person who caused inflation back into office to solve inflation. ESPECIALLY when he has expressed 2 policies-tariffs and mass deportation that will generate inflation.

Americans who voted for ------- are too stupid to realize ------- caused the inflation that Biden was solving-whose economy was the envy of the world.

So, yeah AMericans are stupid.

Evil is usually simpler and easier than Good... and Good tolerates Evil, but not the other way round. Don't expect any tolerance from the New Boss who is not the same, but worse than the Old Boss.

For actual Christians, not these American evangelicals who pine for Rapture and floating away into space to Heaven while looking down on everyone else... which isn't in the bible... for actual Christians who believe that there is a God who is in control; who is eternal and for whom time is a parade that he has already seen...

... these true Christians and others of good heart and spirit can take comfort in the fact that the future has been laid out for them to see if they care to look.

the problem bill lies not with the democratic party the fault lies with an electorate that votes for a rapist, a felon, an insurrectionist, a conman.

But this is the party that reelected a war criminal who republicans no longer acknowledge.

Someday the ------- era will be over and republicans will once again be ashamed (once the glee of owning libs fades).

Ask yourself why democrats are not ashamed of Biden, or Obama or even Bill Clinton.

And ask yourself why republicans are ashamed of bush and will be of -------.

And ask yourself why Obama and Clinton and soon Biden are ranked among the best presidents and ------- and W amongst the worse.

The only thing wrong with democrats is they constantly underestimate the depths to which the republican party will fall.

The American people elected a man who, just this past weekend, mimed a ------- in front of children.

I don't care what Trump voters think about why he won. It's always just a big self-congratulatory pat on the back about how all their long-held prejudices are 100% correct. Most of the time it doesn't reflect anything that Trump actually said or did.

During the campaign he stood on a stage for a half hour silently swaying to music in a fugue state while giant question marks appeared over the heads of everybody in the crowd and the Trumpers today with all the answers had no problem with it.

Tfd,

"Why? Because you won? I don't believe it, it feels to me like Harris should have won. There's no way Dotard got all those votes!"

Mailed in ballots have always had inherent problems. Always have.

In 2020 those problems were compounded due to scale.

So long as margins are big enough those ballots wouldn't have made a difference, those existing problems have always been all but ignored.

In 2020 the margins were small and the possiblity of those ballots being the difference became an important topic.

The margins this election were wide enough those existing problems will again be ignored...not because Trump won, but because he blew it out.

Mailed in ballots have always had inherent problems. Always have.

In 2020 those problems were compounded due to scale.

Liar liar pants on fire.

The only thing this election proved is, once again, this country is split down the middle. Either side who wins is only representative of half the people. Yet, both sides use these kinds of results to act like America agrees with everything they do and wants to push that specific party's agenda to the extreme. So that's what happens, each.and.every.time.

And then the losing party whines and cries about it and says America is doomed...until the next election they are in power and then all of a sudden this country is the best thing ever.

I hate to see this continue to happen. We never fix anything because of it. The same issues that were around when I was a kid are still problems today and both sides always respond it's because of the other party.

"Where was that introspection and humility from you when Trump lost in 2020?? Nowhere to be found. So stick a sock in it you hypocrite."

Nice shot! While Dems are the leaders of hypocrisy, it's fun to finally see when it can be used against Reps. I predict we are going to see a lot more from Reps now as opposed to the last time Trump was in office, mainly because they didn't inherent a country going through a really tough time like Obama and Biden did. So now they have less to stand on and have to resort to stupid political tactics again. Ahhh, business as usual finally.

#167 | Posted by humtake at 2024-11-06 01:44 PM

Wow, look which party all of a sudden cares about what is done in front of kids.

Read your #165 again, then say hello to yourself.
Your statement "which party all of a sudden cares" is scurrilous. Dishonest. Evil.

#168 | Posted by YAV at 2024-11-06 01:50 PM

Hum,

"Either side who wins is only representative of half the people"

Maybe thats why dems lost.

They actually believe that.

It would take a seriously deranged individual to equate the president's actions to some random person somewhere who may or may not have done what you claim. We all so the President Elect mime a ------- in front of children.

You, sir, are deranged.

#170 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-11-06 01:57 PM

Hum,

"Either side who wins is only representative of half the people"

------- does not represent me. In fact, he represents everything that I oppose.

#171 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-11-06 01:58 PM

I don't agree this is politics as usual. After Clinton broke the law and was deservedly impeached, his party paid a price for several election cycles, and no one who isn't partisan still wants anything to do with anyone named Clinton. After Bush screwed up with both Iraq and the economy, no one wants anything to do with anyone named Bush either. But after ------- up the Covid response and getting deservedly impeached twice, and getting at least two of his own supporters fatally shot, people still want to subject themselves and the country to another four years of that?

Something is really wrong if that many people want to cut off their noses to spite their faces that bad, and can't be just because they're "stupid" or "evil".

#172 | Posted by sentinel at 2024-11-06 02:02 PM

What do you think it is, Sentinel?

Bull ------- ----.

People either understand or do not understand what ----ler is. There are no other options.

If you understand him and support him, you are evil.
If you do not understand him and support him, you are stupid.

There are no other options.

The one silver lining is that the morons will suffer along with the rest of us.

I wonder what the over/under is on ----lerites dying as a result of abortion bans?

#174 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-11-06 02:13 PM

I ran into a trump voter on monday.

She was a religious woman in her 80s

She insisted on saying I should vote for trump (she raised the topic).

As an aside she was putting her nose into something that was none of her business.

She called trump "a godly person"

I asked her if she was aware he mimed a ------- in front of children.

She said she didn't know that.

I asked her if he should be disqualified for trying to overthrow the government

She said "I don't believe he tried to do that"

My conclusion: She is stupid.

#175 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-11-06 02:23 PM

...margins this election were wide...
#161 | Posted by BillJohnson

Which is exactly why I think they cheated. It makes no sense to me that Trump got all those votes. I don't believe it, that was good enough for you last time.
and also, Trump said there would be widespread cheating by the Dems, but he won. Did he announce the plot he foiled, was there a big expos? Wouldn't he want to tell us how he stopped the cheating he already said was happening?

#176 | Posted by TFDNihilist at 2024-11-06 02:23 PM

Sometimes things are actually fairly simple and black and white

#177 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-11-06 02:23 PM

"What do you think it is, Sentinel?"

I don't think it can be pinned down to just one thing, but I'm convinced there are mental health issues, regardless of whether the people who voted for him lean to the right, left or some other angle

And yes, I'm convinced he did get a number of left wing votes, because there are also people on the far left who thrive on chaos or don't know how to function in anything other than victim mode.

I also believe there are some who voted for him because they believed that appeasing his supporters would lessen the chances of violence like J6 again and naively hope that things will simmer down afterwards.

#178 | Posted by sentinel at 2024-11-06 02:25 PM

@178

So stupidity or evil, as I said.

#179 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-11-06 02:41 PM

Reminder ------- and Johnson have a secret

#180 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-11-06 02:47 PM

I know some people that vote for "their team" no matter what.
I know others that just aren't informed at all, but know they are Republicans and Trump was nominated and so they are voting for him.
I know many people whose memories aren't accurate and they honestly believe they were MUCH better off under Trump. That is historically inaccurate, and the timeline is clear about that, but they believe that.
I know a lot of people that are white older males that feel that they are losing America to all those immigrants. Doesn't matter if they are legal or 'illegal' and they want that loss of their identity stopped.
Economy is a big one, but the truth of the economy will not breakthrough to them because they know (I believe they know) that there isn't actually a fix, so they'll just blame the democrats and all those others - the ones they are letting in - for all the problems.
I overheard this conversation about all these problems these two said we have needing to stop - and the first step in doing that is closing the border TIGHT and getting rid of all the "illegals."

#183 | Posted by YAV at 2024-11-06 02:57 PM

"that there isn't actually a fix"
This meaning a fix to what they think is the problem. What they think the problem is is a whole nother issue.

#185 | Posted by YAV at 2024-11-06 03:08 PM

@181

---- all that.

Americans had a duty to prevent a fascist takeover of our country.

They chose the evil.

There is no excuse for it.

The American people have fundamentally betrayed women.

There is zero excuse for it.

Women will die because of it. Women's lives will be destroyed because of it.

There is zero justification for it. None.

It is not this or that policy which decided it. It was people choosing the monster. There is zero reason to be unaware of what ------- is.

Americans had a duty.

I have absolutely zero respect for any person who voted for that bucket of scum.

I truly and sincerely hope that those people who voted for him suffer the worst of the consequences of what he will unleash.

Unfortunately, what he will unleash will be with America for decades.

I truly and sincerely hope that those who wish that many Americans suffer the worst of the consequences from Trump would grow the ---- up and stop being such a baby.

But it's not likely going to happen.

But I'll keep wishing

Trump's win proves propaganda is all that matters.

Just like in russia.

And now we're russia.

While america was celebrating "defeating" russia, Putin was coming up with a plan to destroy america from within, for far less money than they had spent trying to compete with the american military.

And our tech/media overlords allowed him to do it.

One thing that Trump took advantage of, again, and that some cretins who knee-jerked to everything he said still haven't figured out, is that many voters filter out what they deem to be "noise". So, when Trump gets the cretins and fools stuck in a pattern of reacting to everything he says or does and calling him a "Nazi", they stop paying attention to those sources and subconsciously lump all accusations that sound outrageous in with that noise, even if they happened to be true.

Ah... a visit from The Ghost of Reiche Past.

Love you, man!

You'll be happy to know that:

"Nazi Germany is the 7th head on the Beast with 7 Heads and 10 Horns

As should be obvious by now, the final beast kingdom, the one ruled by the Antichrist himself, the one that both the previous two iron kingdoms helped to bring about and empower, is none other than America.

And drawing from those two iron kingdoms that empowered it, the new American Empire will be the 4th Reich of the Holy Roman Empire, only this time it will be an Unholy American Empire, and ruled by an Emperor who is the Man of Sin.

But it's not the America we know today, as there are fundamental changes coming to the makeup of this country as a whole, transforming it into a worldwide empire with shocking new alliances."

antichrist45.com

.

btw, I heard a good description of prophetic language from NT Wright today. He described it as, in the first century at least, the equivalent of our Modern Editorial Cartoon.

Rabbis and priests could speak (and teach) publicly in symbolic language that their people understood, but even if a Roman knew the Hebrew language, they would not know the symbology.

Bernie Sanders Tears Into Democratic Party Over Loss to Trump: 'American People Are Angry and Want Change'

www.latintimes.com

Now, BJ, mi amigo/amiga... ask Bernie whether the Trump policy agenda will be better for working people than would the Dem's?

He'll tell you the same thing about that that any Dem, and most non-partisan experts will tell you.

Trump will acerbate the problems Bernie refers to even more... much, much more.

What Bernie is saying is that things like reversing Corporate Personhood, killing Citizens United, Public Financing of Elections (paid for by Corps and Media who now pay for and produce ads anyway).

Public Healthcare (financed by drug companies and media), Higher Worker Earnings and Conditions... and a variety of other workable solutions... that almost ALL Republicans are paid to oppose in law and the Congress, some Dems, too, as it is the only way to win Office.

SO... when you invoke Bernie as an ally to your cause, realize that his solutions are not Republican solutions.

Those have always been the same: Money is speech, and the more money you have the more speech you get.

"Citizens United Explained

The 2010 Supreme Court decision further tilted political influence toward wealthy donors and corporations."

"It was your candidate. The one no one ever voted for."

Everyone who voted Biden in the 2024 primary knew that Harris would be the one to replace him if he were unable to continue. I don't believe a significant number of people were actually bothered by this. If the shoe were on the other foot, Democrats would be making the same fake outrage shtick about the Republican candidate, and it would be just as tedious and unconvincing.
