Yep--Christians should round up the homeless, declare them criminals and force them from the city walls.

"Then he will say to those on his left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'

"They also will answer, Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'

"He will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

Donald Trump sincerely believes that he is some sort of god.

It's easier to seem godlike when you pick on the weak.

So his first miracle is telling the homeless to leave.

And if they don't I suppose he'll find something bad to do with them, anotehr miracle.

Donald Trump behaves like any degenerate Roman emperor did. He embraces a life of vice and horror towards others.

His delusions of godhood only get worse. So his behavior will get worse.

First of all it's an another ghost source - but lets go with that not being an issue here, we'll just take all of this at face value.

Secondly, From the article:

I didn't ask about activation of NG. I know there's precedence for that.

I'm asking last time feds took over a local PD.

Here, I'll help you. The feds can only legally take control of the DC PD. But only for 30 days.

That has never happened before now.

So what precedence is there for the current waters we're navigating?

The NG assisted local PD during Katrina response. Again, that is something that I don't deny has happened and it has always been at the request and in cooperation with local/state government.

Also, I thought Trump didn't have the power to deploy the NG for an emergency in DC...

If Trump organizes and handles the military takeover of DC as well as he handled Musk's DOGE firings, this could be a disaster for everyone who lives and works in DC. The backlash, even from Republicans will be massive. Seriously. This is a straightforward authoritarian militarized power grab. I would never have predicted Trump would go this far. Now that he is done it, can any of us be questioned for predicting more of the same? He wants to be a dictator, and insofar as he can push the limits, he is behaving like one.

There will be a response by the American people.

The "forced" hospitalization....and I'm not sure if it was is in more than 1 state.

In any case, California can start forcing the hospitalization any time they want.

They've had plenty of chances to do it......if it was so wrong to end the practice of forcing it.

California has recently enacted major changes to its mental health and homelessness policies. As of January 1, 2025, Senate Bill 43 (SB-43) expanded the legal definition of "gravely disabled" to include people who cannot provide basic needs such as food and shelter due to an untreated mental illness or substance use disorder. This revision allows more individuals"including some experiencing homelessness and severe behavioral health issues"to be involuntarily detained and forced into mental health or addiction treatment programs if authorities determine they cannot care for themselves.

Trump Planned D.C. Takeover Because He Hated Route to His Golf Course

Trump doesn't really care about D.C. He just cares about things looking nice as he goes to play golf.

President Trump's takeover of Washington, D.C., was directly inspired by the homeless people he saw from his motorcade window on the way to his golf course.

"We're having a News Conference tomorrow in the White House. I'm going to make our Capital safer and more beautiful than it ever was before. The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY. We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital," Trump wrote Sunday on Truth Social, attaching four pictures to his post.

Two of the photos showed a total of about 10 tents on the side of the road near a highway ramp The Guardian identified as about a mile from the White House. One picture showed a person sleeping on the steps of the American Institute of Pharmacy Building on Constitution Avenue. And another was a picture of some trash in the E Street Expressway by the Kennedy Center.

This is the route the president takes to his frequent outings to his Trump National Golf Club in Virginia.

The Smithsonian is great.

White people protesting the fire branding of cattle in front of the USDA is a real taste of white privilege. They took a break and went to McDonalds for lunch.

Lotta homeless, lot of people nodding out all over the place. Real -------- of a town. The kind of place you'd go buy cocaine from black kids at 3 AM. Dave Chappelle skit in real life, "HEY BABY! QUIT SELLIN THAT WEED!" Later on this is what Austin turned into but even worse.

Personally I would love to see the streets of all America cities "cleaned up".

Legally.

The question is how will Trumpy abuse his authority this time?

There are reasons why it hasn't been done.

The homelessness crisis is difficult to solve because it's a complex issue with deep-rooted causes and no single, easy solution.

It requires a multi-faceted approach addressing systemic issues like lack of affordable housing, inadequate income support, and limited access to mental healthcare, alongside a robust emergency response system.

In other words it's gonna cost lots o money.

But hey Trumpy done bought it so Trumpy owns it now.

Personally I am just getting the popcorn ready to watch how Trumpy screws this one up, too.

I'd bet on the Nat Guard doing a bussing program. It's a cost effective strategy to make it somebody else's problem without solving anything.

of actually fixing the problem, the small budget Houston approach is the most effective in the Nation.

Houston worked with surrounding county governments, various community stakeholders and nonprofit service providers to develop a model that, despite operating with a small budget, has decreased the area's homeless population by roughly 63% since 2011, according to a recent city report. The area has experienced an 82% reduction in family homelessness and a 69% reduction in chronic homelessness in that period, Eichenbaum said. And by 2015, it had effectively ended veteran homelessness.

Not sure if that is completely true. The homeless can be pretty scary. Especially to the elderly. They do scare away a lot of customers according to local businesses. But they can be easily handled most of the time.

But I'd definitely be MORE afraid of ICE for sure. They have $165 billion dollars to use against you and the entire federal government backing them up.

An individual is defenseless against that kind of power. It's what the constitution was supposed to prevent. In fact a central purpose of the United States Constitution, particularly with the addition of the Bill of Rights, was to limit governmental power and protect individual liberties.

Before Trump, these sorts of initiatives would be met with cries of soshulizm and wasting tax dollars.

Now, these initiatives are cheered and necessary and right...because the means is more brutal that before while the cost isn't really changed.

So, what MAGA is showing us is that they weren't actually concerned with the costs of programs in the past, they just didn't think the means were brutal enough to reach the desired end.
