Machado is receiving the Nobel Peace Prize first and foremost for her efforts to advance democracy in Venezuela. But democracy is also in retreat internationally. Democracy " understood as the right to freely express one's opinion, to cast one's vote and to be represented in elective government " is the foundation of peace both within countries and between countries.

No, he's just showing how the selection actually is. It's not meant for "Peace". It's meant for "people who think like me".
Why else would Obama have won it after being in office two weeks? He did nothing special as a senator for two years to get this award.
I understand Trump wasn't eligible and missed the deadline, but he should get this award next year. He is actually doing peace and for you to say he isn't is stupid.

And to take it a bit further, I not of a mind that Trump even deserves the award, because I have my doubts about this so called peace deal this early on. But if it does actually create peace in a part of the world that needs it more than anywhere else, Trump should receive it in the future - not holding my breath.
