"How often in 100 days do you get to change the trajectory of the world? How often in 100 days do you get to do something that's going to impact generations to come?" Walz asked. "And how often in the world do you make that bastard wake up afterwards and know that a Black woman kicked his ass, sent him on the road?"

The line was well received on the call and almost immediately grabbed headlines. For many Democrats, at least, the online virality " with apologies to Biden's "Dark Brandon" meme " was the kind they have pined for over the past few years.

Speaking my language. The only candidate that has done that.

Let's roll.

Breaking!

PHILADELPHIA: Responding to Vice President Harris's choice of Tim Walz as her running mate on Tuesday, Donald J. Trump claimed that the Minnesota governor "was never white before."

"I saw him on television many, many times, and, quite frankly, he was never white," Trump said. "Then, he suddenly became white."

Hinting that "there's something going on," Trump said that Walz's "last-minute decision to become white" was "something that should be looked into."

Asked what Walz was before he became white, Trump responded, "I think Walz is some kind of a dance. So what is he, white or a dance? I respect either one, but he obviously doesn't."

Fmr Pres Trump went from a 3.4% lead on July 7, 2024 to 0.2% behind today.

Good call. Picking Shapiro would have created too many issues, even if it would have settled Pennsylvania.

" first governor picked as Dem VP since 1924"

This is his only plus in my book. But what an unfortunate pick, the Democrat ticket is now cemented as the party of illegal immigration, crime, defund the police, burn down cities, and BLM. All the imagery came out of his state. On top of the fact it's not a swing state.

Given he's not from a swing State she would have done better with Newsom.

More voters will come out against Walz. Voters for him will stay home. The most socialist ticket in history.

Unfortunately another big win for the MAGAts.

OK, who squealed? This wasn't supposed to be announced until 6 o'clock tonight.

I hope this isn't another "Dewey beats Truman" headline.

Otherwise, Tim Walz is an excellent choice. I would have preferred Josh Shapiro but then, I don't have the weight of saving democracy on my shoulder. There's no doubt that the other contenders will continue to support Harris in any way they can. And if there's a consolation prize for them in her administration, that would be great, too.

Hmmmm...

The GOP seems to bring up immigration when the VP is announced.

Maybe that's why fmr Pres Trump killed the GOP-written, bipartisan-backed border bill that wwould have helped with a major border issue.

Fmr Pres Trump killed the bill because he wanted to keep the border as a talking point during the campaign, probably to deflect away from all the other issues the GOP faces, like, for example, an old, dementia-ridden criminal candidate.

Lamp, here's a really easy way to solve the border issue. Don't let them in, don't fly them into airports to try and cover up the fact that the optics look better than mass border crossings (Yes the Biden/Harris admin is guilty of this) and if anyone claims otherwise I will present receipts.

Is this a joke? We all know the border was not broken by unseen forces or that the Dems were desperately trying to stop the flow of illegals. We all know: 1.) the Dems broke the border through EO rescinding Trump's policies and 2.) the 10M+ illegals was WANTED by the Dems.

There is no accident here and everyone with an IQ above room temperature knows it. There is no serious debate who is responsible for the current conditions - this was the exact outcome that the Dems desired.

After attending college thanks to the GI Bill, Tim Walz served his community as a high school teacher and football coach"taking his team to the state championship for the first time in the school's history."

It was a police riot. The riot and destruction was started by the police, numerous undercover pigs were caught infiltrating the crowd and escalating violence, while uniformed pigs attacked peaceful protesters.

And that's where Walz screwed up, he did not use the opportunity he had to significantly reduce police funding and shift it to positive community action groups.

Fortunately for Mineapolis, the pigs have somewhat defunded themselves. newrepublic.com There has been about a 1/3 reduction in the number of pigs on the street, from 888 worthless pigs down to 560 worthless pigs this year.

And the takeaway from that should be that direct action to demoralize the worthless scum works. We can't give them a moment of peace, we have to keep letting them know that the world would be better off if they ended their own worthless lives - or at least get a real job.

Oh, and crime? Fewer pigs = less crime. Crime is down and dropping in Minneapolis.

@#55 ... Because it gave more money for processing immigrants than deterring illegal crossings. ...

If that is correct, then maybe take it up with the conservative author (GOP Senator from Oklahoma) of the bill.

On the other hand, processing asylum seekers currently has a multi-year delay, during which they can remain in the Country. The bill also made it more difficult to gain asylum status, further reducing the time asylum seekers can remain in the Country.

Still the GOP killed it because fmr Pres Trump wanted to keep border security as a problem, not as a solution.

The real question is why is the GOP currently all arm-waving about border security when it seems they really do not want to solve the problem?

The same people who banged the drum about Biden being unfit to serve a second term are now heartbroken that he listened to them.

Kamala Harris was chosen in the normal primary process that was set in place to handle a candidate dropping out. States chose delegates to the convention based on the primary results. Delegates chose a replacement for Biden.

As the vice president she was the obvious choice when the president ended his bid for a second term.

With as much as the MAGA crowd is freaking out over Harris, you'd think they have zero confidence Trump can beat her.

I'm not yet sure the Republicans even know what they are trying to make an issue out of.

They seem to just be throwing random pasture pastries at the wall, hoping (against hope, it seems) that something sticks.

The Harris/Walz campaign currently seems to have significant, and growing, energy and enthusiasm behind it.

The Trump/Vance campaign currently seems to have a waning energy and enthusiasm behind it.

Since pulling in Sen Vance, the Trump campaign has been fighting an inertia that looks to be against them.

What the Harris/Walz campaign needs to do is turn the current level of energy and enthusiasm into voter turnout for their ticket and also for the down-ticket Democrats.

What the Trump/Vance campaign needs to do is start trying to recover lost ground.

I know as most my neighbors are Venezuelans in the giant city in South American where I live most of the years and they tell me this all the time all the while they sucking up public socialist programs like free public education for their children(4-5) and they get cheap health care that costs about $15 a month and then bitch about socialism. Typical right wing dumbasses. Although, the vast majority of them are good family people, many have had scant education what with the collapse of the economics in their old country where even public education is disappearing.

National Guard? I would'nt put that down, in fact we should stay as far away from that as possible. Appears he took off once called up to Iraq.

Apparently you continue to let the right wing media spoon feed you their lies that you mindlessly regurgitate here.

Walz served in the military for 24 years, enlisting in the Nebraska National Guard at 17 in 1981 and then transferring to the Minnesota National Guard in 1996. He retired in 2005 to begin his successful run for the U.S. House, representing Minnesota as command sergeant major, among the highest ranks for enlisted soldiers. His battalion went on to deploy to Iraq shortly after Walz's retirement.

Walz specialized in heavy artillery and had proficiency ribbons in sharpshooting and hand grenades.

But during the 21 years that Walz spent working with large artillery pieces, he suffered hearing loss and tinnitus in both ears, Minnesota Public Radio reported. He was allowed to continue his service after undergoing surgery, which partially resolved his hearing loss.

During his service, Walz responded to natural disasters, including floods and tornadoes in Minnesota and Nebraska, and was deployed overseas for months at a time, according to MPR.

In 2003, he was sent to Italy, where he served with the European Security Force to support the war in Afghanistan. He was also stationed in Norway for joint training with other NATO militaries.

Walz told MPR that he reenlisted in the National Guard after the September 11 attacks but never saw active combat in his years in the military.

Stars and Stripes reported in 2020 that Walz credited his Army experience with helping him steer Minnesota through the COVID-19 pandemic as governor.

As governor of Minnesota, Walz is commander in chief of the 13,000-soldier Minnesota National Guard. "I'm certainly proud of my military service, but it's one piece of me," he told Minnesota Public Radio in 2018. "It doesn't define me."

www.usatoday.com

He was 41 years old in 2005, had served 24 years, had multiple overseas deployments and suffered hearing loss in both ears. And you actually think his service will be used against him compared to Commander Bone Spurs?

That's right, you don't think one bit.

As the man who replaced Walz on the battlefield said, it's like stolen valor. Walz fled when ordered to Iraq, then started a political career off a position he did not earn in the military because he quit.

Here is a prediction for you (and yes, it does relate to your request) - by election day, Trump will have 100% stolen the 'weird' branding Dems tried to use and turn it against them just like with ' fake news'.

This is because the Democrat policies are not policies people want.

1.) People don't want the mass illegal immigration that Democrats want
2.) They don't want to have illegals in the country much less give them drivers license and free health care
3.) People don't want drag queen story hour
4.) People want free speech - not the Democrat censorship
5.) People want a foreign policy that does not cause continual wars like in Israel, Yemen, Ukraine, etc.
6.) People do not want DEI

Just is just for starters.

WALZ: "In Minnesota, we respect our neighbors and their personal choices that they make. Even if we wouldn't make the same choice for ourselves, there's a golden rule: Mind your own damn business."

Walz actually set up a snitch hotline so that neighbors could report on neighbors for lockdown violations, resulting in a possible prison sentence.

People who never served should treed lightly on those who did. And they also don't like an imbecile who treats this nation's military secrets files like he does empty McDonalds wrappers.

This is actually a dream ticket for the GOP because it brings the libturd 'summer of love' right back into the conversation where Kamala will have to make the dual case of wanting to defund the police (to appease her base) while saying she wants more cops (to try to win over suburban women afraid for their safety). While Kamala is widely regarded as extremely talented orally, unfortunately for libturds it is not due to her speaking skills.

Republicans wrote their dream bill, and admitted it was better than they'd be able to get under Trump due to parliamentary restrictions.

Trump told Rs to sabotage it, so he'd have it for a campaign issue.

In the real world, if one side unilaterally walks away from a deal, they own the fallout.

If not for Trump, the border would have millions of more dollars and hundreds of more staff. But for Trump.

GOP has no responsibility for an out of control border that was 100% caused by Democrat intentional actions. And save the 'GOP had a bill' nonsense because it has already been explained to you 100 times that:

1.) The problem was caused by DEM executive order
2.) The problem was 50% resolved a few months ago by DEM executive order

Given the Dems both caused and 'solved' the problem without a single GOP vote, it is obvious that the 10M+ illegals that flooded over the border was their intended outcome. Or, you can explain to us why Pedo Joe waiting 3.5 years before issuing his executive order to bring back some semblance of order at the border. Was the intent to inflict so much harm on the American people that the GOP would be forced to negotiate on this issue? Sure the hell seems like it. Own it.

The reality is that Shapiro does not ensure you win PA while at the same time guarantying that you lose Michigan. That is why he was not selected. The Dems have a total lack of normal white guys in the party now so they were down to choosing between Jews (Kelly and Shapiro), gays (Booty-Judge), or the low-T Dick Cheney doppleganger. This is the problem when you only promote within the party based on identity politics.

It's no surprise that's your guess.

To the conservative, it's never anything to do with what's good, or qualifying, it's always everything to do with what's bad. As always, with a normal tinge of bigotry.

For example, it's not about Walz's strength or credibility that earned him Democrat nomination for VP, it's because Shapiro is a Jew. And the Dem nomination for POTUS, a sitting VP, former Senator and state AG is a DEI candidate.

Which, in part, explains why the GOP has lost every election since they crowned Trump.

I posted this before for you -------- but I will post it again so that you can repeat it as your own original thought in your libturd friend circle and actually sound smart for once:

Unless the Dow drops 15% or Israel and Iran start lobbing missiles at each other, Trump will not pick up a single voter between now and the election. On that same note, there will not be a single voter that switches from Trump to Kamala either. And given Trump enthusiasm is still at all time highs, his voter count is more or less set at this point.

This is similar to Kamala with the noted exception being: Dem turnout is the big unknown. The election in the next 90 days will be determined by how successful the Democrats are at turning out low information voters - the choice for those that decide the election is not between Kamala and Trump - it is between Kamala and staying home.

Meanwhile, the GOP playbook IS NOT about winning over women (as said above, that is not going to happen) - it is about defining Kamala and the Democrats as a party so left and radical that independent voters are too embarrassed to actually vote for them. They may hate Trump - but not to the degree that they would vote for Dems and will choose to simply sit it out.

In that regard, Walz does NOTHING to help the libturds. His policies are straight up weird - like tampons in boys' bathrooms, supporting BLM burning down his cities, abortion up until birth (and even after in some rare cases), and sex changes without parental consent. If you can convince that voting Democrat means you OWN all those stances, the normal ones will opt out and stay home.

That is why we will see Kamy's "run to the middle" starting ASAP. The VP is not going make her look normal - so, she will need to lie about her stance on policies and hope libturds have no memories or ability to Google her past so she can present herself as a centrist.

But, I believe you definitely upped the 'cool factor' by picking the only VP candidate alive that can make JD Vance look handsome in comparison. That is hard werk as Dumbass Bush used to say.

I thought Shapiro was the obvious choice.

Just you making this statement proves how good a pick VP Harris made. If you think Shapiro was the obvious choice, he was clearly the wrong choice.

Now that you built your strawman, there are other reasons why he's not the pick, the top two of which are:

School vouchers.
Sexual harassment allegations.

He isn't popular at all with the liberals...he is too far right of center.

Thanks for playing, though, always good to see the DJT apologists struggling to respond to the shifting tides.

It's interesting to see how flat-footed the MAGA faithful are, though. You have to formulate your opinions based on the limited information you consume from Rupert Murdoch properties. It will be a few more days before a set of talking points comes in, which you will parrot faithfully, like the good brownshirts you are. You have no idea how to react to what's coming your way. Stale, old repurposed arguments that show how little you know...

Reagan was to the right of most of today's GOP.

He mocked, "I am from the government and I'm here to help." and not much after we were treated to George W's "Compassionate Conservatism" which was big government spending but by borrowing and not taxing.

Reagan would get kicked out of today's GOP. Stop it.

He was pro-choice. That loses, what, 99% of the MAGA base?
He cut and ran from Beirut.
He traded arms for hostages...oh wait, Repubicans are fine with kowtowing to terrorists, never mind this one.
He helped get the Brady bill across the finish line.
He also had Alzheimer's, which I guess is OK if you're a Repubican, given that you seem to think DJT is a JeNIuS and Biden is a vegetable.

How anyone could still support the old fat slob felon after this is beyond me.

It's no longer a question if the fat slob has any moral character.

It is now a question of whether his obvious lack of moral character matters to his rabid voters.

How the evangelicals could proclaim a "man" who lies, steals, cheats, defrauds, mocks the disabled, hates, rapes, sexually assaults and who has committed adultery ON EVERY ONE OF HIS THREE WIVES as the champion of Christian family values says a lot of just how warped their understanding of Jesus Christ is.

She replied then, and even in 2021 after the Insurrection, "because I'm a Republican." I said, "so much for moral values, eh?"

This is a person who included me in chain emails since Bill Clinton's 1996 reelection campaign claiming he was the antiChrist, as were all subsequent Democratic presidential candidates.

The problem the Harris/Walz campaign has is their record. Harris has had staffers leak to the press that she's disavowed every thing she campaigned on in 2020. I could see evolving on one issue, but all of them? Nobody is going to buy that.

Walz has a record too and it's terrible. Forced transing of children. Extremely restrictive COVID measures with a neighbor snitch line. The most Covid fraud of any state in the union.

At some point they are going to have to do a presser (Trump and Vance already have) and an interview. My guess is they won't. But if they don't it's going to look really bad.

I will agree with you with in regard to Harris. She does not have many (if any) clips of her showing her being angry - she generally seems like a very happy person. Now, I would attribute this to her not being a serious person paired with her being promoted way, way beyond her actual capabilities so she has good reason to be happy.

But, she lacks that typical libturd rage that you see in any Democrat rally or we have all witnesses in our own friends and family members that have a complete mental breakdown at the mere sight or mention of Trump. I have NEVER cut a libturd out of my life because they voted for Biden - I have had several libturds do exactly that to me. That is why the Democrat Party is a cult - it has all the characteristics from isolating its members from people with opposing opinions (cutting off family and friends) - shutting down all inquiries by shouting "check your privilege" or only certain people can speak on issues, massive censorship, creating a victim mentality so you can demonize outside people to help enforce the isolation, and child sacrifice.

Jesus would be shouted down as WOKE in todays GQP.

The politics of the chreestian right has nothing to do with teachings of Jesus.

When a magat starts bitching about "woke" I ask them to define the word.... they can't.

When I point out that Jesus was the wokest they usually end up -------- themselves trying to prove they can't and eventually come down to "eye for an eye" and I point out that is Old Testament and the New Testament rejected that. I ask them what the sermon on the mount means and they cannot explain it.
They only want to hijack Jesus as a means to hate on people who are not just like them and then hide behind Leviticus while simultaneous rejecting the parts of Leviticus that are inconvenient to their love of shrimp, bacon and poly/cotton blends.

Tim Walz seems like genuinely the best person in politics I've seen in a long time.

Like, genuinely good person.

Real human being.

He served his country. He leveraged that service into an education and used that education to teach high school students. He continued serving his country during that time. He also coached on a football team from winless to championship. He also when seeing a gay student bullied became the faculty advisor for the gay-straight alliance club in his school.

He loves classic rock on vinyl.

Married to the same woman for thirty years with two children.

Check out the PSA's he shot with his daughter for the MN handfree cellphone law... they're a hoot.

He signed laws providing needed personal hygiene supplies to girls in school and giving kids breakfast and lunch in school.

He's as midwestern as Ranch dressing. He checks off more boxes than a hypochondriac filling out a medical history form.

I imagine I'm not the only one here who objectively disdains DJT and also has family and friends who either casually support DJT or are full-on members of Cult45. The former are easy to deal with in polite company, you simply choose not to talk about politics when doing your friends and family things. The latter tend to make this strategy more difficult...they tend to make conflict unavoidable at gatherings.

Lots of us have a family/friend who fits the "Crazy Uncle" stereotype: someone who can be warm and generous, but has one belief or conviction that borders on (or does a full on cannonball into) crazy. Maybe it's that the Earth is flat, or that there wasn't a moon landing or that Bigfoot is real...doesn't matter in context. What matters is, that person is irrational in their convictions, and nobody wants to trigger a conversation about it when they're about to sit down to dinner. It's socially awkward, sometimes uncomfortable...and if they're in Cult45, sometimes even emotionally taxing. Crazy Uncle has a high percentage chance of ruining the party, and the typical first phase of coping with this is to reduce the invitations...this leads to some folks even backing out of plans, knowing that it would be best for them to not be in the same room as Crazy Uncle. At some point, someone has to talk to Crazy Uncle and eventually demand that certain topics are unacceptable at gatherings and if he continues to bring them up, he's no longer welcome to the party. Much butthurt ensues, and a lot of avoidable conflict escalates...it generally sucks for everyone, because people remember a time when Crazy Uncle was warm and generous.

Crazy Uncle doesn't get this at all. He thinks he's the victim of persecution. Lashes out at family members. Forces people to pick sides, or choose him over that "overly sensitive" niece. He's the center of attention. He's the person everyone's talking about now. He's morally and intellectually correct about everything, and everyone else is the problem.

There's an old phrase about poker: If you are sitting at a poker table for a while, and you can't find the sucker, it's you. If you are fanatically MAGA, and you think everyone at the table is an unhinged libturd cult member...don't be surprised if you find yourself being cut off. That's a feature, not a bug.
