This is why I hate politics: "the Republicans are in charge and my life hasn't changed, everything is expensive and difficult! I'm voting in the Democrats and shaking it up!" nothing changed yesterday. Nothing at all. In 2 years we will be having the same discussion. The same anger will be boiling. It's ridiculous.

There is only ONE scenario where things change. Remove ALL private funding of elections. Period. Each level of federal elections candidates gets a certain amount of money to fund their campaign from the Fed. State elections the same from the state coffers. Everyone has the same amount. No hidden money. No one is beholden to anyone, may the best campaign win. There will need to be some tight rules on who qualifies of course.

That's it. That's the only scenario. Otherwise we continue to be the oligarchy we are.

They need to do something about healthcare prices. Restore ACA subsidies, pass a bill for Medicare for folks 55 and over (even if Trump vetoes it), pass a bill to send money to rural communities to shore up healthcare facilities in that are in danger of going bankrupt.They aren't going to be able to lower costs across the board, but they need to be seen making good faith efforts to do so.

Oh, I think Trump will be raging on Truth Social for a long time. Because he didn't just wipe out in the midterms, he also lost a lot of the power he's been abusing. That's going to be a bitter pill to swallow.

Over the weekend, I was in Buffalo watching my Ravens get smashed by the Bills and during tailgate time there was a MAGAt contingent of fat white guys- Bruce Blakeman groupies- driving around in a big trailer with a giant sign of Hochul wearing a Halloween costume that said "DITCH THE WITCH".

Being Bills fans, they must've gotten too used to losing to realize they would be quickly whitewashing that trailer come morning.

She0 could have withheld o8pen support for El-Sayed without 1openly supporting the Republican candidate who opposes everything Democrats have accomplished for the American people. She has a riright to disagree with the party or one o4f its candidates but the the party and that candidate also have the right to end their association with her.

I think she knew her political career was over before she even made the decision. I don't want to judge her, because it seems like there was something going on in her personal life that affected it.
