I did a poor job of selling it but the Pandemic Prophet has some very interesting observations about this.

It's a documentary from France and is about their response to the pandemic and is mostly about this character "Didier Raoult" and how he had taken advantage of the fears of people during the beginnings of the pandemic to boost his own self image and how he had invested in and promoted chloroquine as a cure for Covid.

I had not heard of this character before as I was more focused on Americas response. But the parallels to what happened here are obvious. The story of it explains a lot about how Trumpy and maga have come to be. I was left with some very strange and uncomfortable feelings about the nature of humans and how they act like mobs and are controlled by those in power and explains a lot about what has also happened in America.

It's a real study in human nature and the negative effects of the unsocial media and political power during a global crisis or any local crisis for that matter.

And the parallels to what happened in America are very clear.
This does not bode well for our global response to the dangers facing us like AI and another reason the Singularity cannot be stopped.
