However, plutonium-based reactors have been used on multiple space craft (ie Mars rovers, interplanetary probes) as reliable replacements for solar panels. Launching reactors is not that uncommon of an event as you'd think.

Most (all?) of the people pushing this kind of s*&^ have some ineffective garbage they want to sell you, like IVM and fenbendazole.
